The Pascal GTX 1070 Owners Thread

I haven't extensively tested it but in a very quick test I had it running at 2100MHz/8500MHz fine with only a slight voltage bump.

Sometimes it drops back a bit due to vrel or power to around 2020 ish and nothing I can do about that even with 112% PT.

Needs the extra voltage to get 2100MHz stable - tried on stock voltage just now and it crashed hard 20 seconds into heaven benchmark.

Without changing anything else, I put my Strix at 2100mhz and it instantly froze the machine lol.

Now at some point once I finish paying off some bills, I'll be looking at upgrading the rest of the PC, because as expected, the card is held back by the 7850K.

Don't get me wrong.. everything runs like poop off a shovel...so fast. Loving the card. I don't like the gpu tweak software though.

You can use Afterburner or another app of your choice, they should all work no problem. I also don't like GPU tweak too much.

Yeah, an APU isn't the best choice to pair with a 1070;p Maybe shop around for an i5 4690k and a decent Z97 mobo? Should be enough for quite some time and you won't break the bank.

Two cards I wanted seems to have problems.... EVGA FTW + This.

Here's mine, complete with naff unboxing shots and comparison with the sagging backplateless 7870XT it replaces. I never thought to measure the space in my case, but Antec sure know how to make a huge case with bugger all room, any longer and the saw would have had to come out.

Looks nice mate My brother is contemplating this card, can you give us your thoughts on it if possible?

Damn, I wonder whether it's widespread... Mine doesn't seem to be affected but I'm worried now:mad: Why do they always have to eff something up in expensive cards:confused:

No idea but the EVGA models seem to be plagued by coil whine, Which made me start leaning towards the MSI Gaming X.. Until I saw that.

Between the Zotac Amp Extreme and the Strix OC now....

Should I get a Zotac AMP edition ROG for £420 or the Palit Dual for £374? I'm probably only going to have this until Vega so I can actually use Freesync. So I'll probably sell if Vega is better than a GTX 1080 for under £550. Warranty isn't to much of an issue.

I think it's actually the best 1070.

yes its the best but it swallows up 3 slots and if you wanted to go sli in the future then all of your 6 pcie slots would dissapear, already investigated on my x99 strix, not to mention you would lose some of your connectors on the end of your mobo as the 2nd card would sit over them....

After a week of drama and a lost package from DPD, and awesome customer support from OCUK to send another my new 1440 Dell monitor and Gainward GTX 1070 will be here in about 2 hours. Today will be a good day. I need to fit the thing onto my Gigabyte Z87-D3HP MoBo as its slightly fatter than my R9 280X thats being replaced. Likely have to move the PCI-E 1 sound card down to the lower x16 slot, I imagine it will still work?

no way! what happened to the original package, lost? was it found by DPD, new card and monitor is a big loss in £££

Well I haven't really got much game time on it so far but a GPU-Z log from when I ran a couple of benches on it show the core speed hitting 2012Mhz and then falling back to 1974, temps never got higher than 67 . The card feels solid as hell and I can't hear it over my case fans under load, but then I do have an Antec 1200 which is something of a beast.
Probably worth noting it is a 2.5 slot card, I'm unlikely to ever try it but I imagine that could make SLI a real pain.
I'm really happy with it so far, it looks & feels like a premium product and performs as you would expect, no idea what Inno3D's warranty looks. I basically sorted the 1070's by price and chose the fastest cheapest one with a 2 year warranty ;). I'll update with some temps etc after a BF4 session.

Do you know if the Dual is a reference board with aftermarket cooler?

Thanks mate. Great information ,il pass your comments on to my brother
Much appreciated cheers

Quick question, people. I notice there is a Jetstream and a Super Jetstream version of the Palit card (the latter with higher clocks) Is it likely the standard one will clock to the same sort of level as the Super?
