The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

Sorry not TDP I meant volts.

220core and 600 memory for the above clocks, the memory wasn't even throttle the scores at that either.

That sounds better :)

And yeah thats pretty much the problem. Modded 1080 bios so far pushing about 2.2-2.3ghz with the asus XOC bios, what i've seen so far on water.

Hopefully will be the same once we get some modded bios. Although you will need a hybrid or full block to keep the core and vrms cool ;)

I didn't really want two 1080s but ended up with them cause of preorders.

No experience of sli and I know people mention micro stutter plus if a game doesn't support it then performance will be way short of a Titan.

As far as ownership goes, I reckon both will lose the same amount of money. Titans will be worth half in a year but then so will 1080s

Plus less to cool and only one water block to buy so the Titan is going to be cheaper.

I've always believed that one card is better than two

Never had micro stutter personally. Not with any SLI system i've had. Other parts very true though.

Need to see some more benchies over the next week/s see how much of a difference to 1080 SLI.

Might sell both my 1080's and blocks. Then might get a single TXP and block for no loss.

Don't know yet though. Card would look a little lonely ;)

I don't see why it won't hit the same speeds, on air it pritty much does. Got my infra-red heat gun ready for my VRM's, bring it

Gents, I think we have found a monster, super happy with the card thus far.

Yeah we certainly have, this will keep me going for a good while. The 1080 was a good card it just wasn't much of a gain over my old TX but this is what you call a jump when O/C'd. The minimum FPS are where it's at with this, they're so high!

Should be a monster and then some for that kinda money 0.0

I'll take this off one of you gents when Nvidia release their next big thing :P

Lovely card, too pricey atm. You think you guys will swap for aftermarket GTX 1080 Ti's when they launch?

Will be watching MM like a hawk :P

TDP shouldnt matter? Even though my 1080's power limit is 120% in afterburner they can push all the way to 135% without dropping clocks.

Rest sounds good :)

And yeah there will be some modded bios for sure before long.

Is that normal though? I thought a lot of 1080s had a much lower tdp limit?

Obviously they didn't put one on the titan tx then?

So just temps holding them back then?

Thats more than 13% then?:p

Which idiot said that? (Of course as a Titan owner I may be biased :D)

OC GTX 1080 4K average across 15 games (Ultra settings) = 53.6 fps
OC Nvidia Titan X 4K average across 15 games (Ultra settings) = 71.5 fps - 28.6% faster :p

I still say though that if you are stuck at 1750 to keep the fans reasonable then it would only be 13% :p

Haha you just won't admit it will you, 10/10 for defending effort though. :p

I won't admit it cause it's still true. There are people not prepared to run their Titan at 75% fans so won't get anywhere close to 1900.:p

To be fair I expected more than 28% oc vs oc. It's over 30% stock vs stock.

I'm no expert but the fan on the TXP doesn't seem that much louder than the 1080 @100%, which was a improvement over the old TX, I could be wrong though.

You mean flounders edition? It won't be it's the same shroud and fan :p

Sure I've seen somewhere that the new Titan sounds like the old Titan at 5% more fan speed so yeah it is quieter.

Will be way too loud for me. Invested in 5 rads and 18 fans and aquaeris xt controller for silence not planes taking off :p

to all the people saying there is no 1080 Ti give this video a quick look at at 2:17:45 Tom petersen comments on 1080 Ti when asked about it,
"what about GTX 1080 Ti"
"omg that would be an unreleased product of which I can not comment on at this time"
unless I'm reading into it a bit too much is it safe to say with Tom saying this that we can expect a Ti?

Yeah there will without any doubt be a GTX 1080 Ti. With the Titan XP reaching thermal limits threshold fairly quickly with Nvidia's Ref Flounders cooler I imagine aftermarket GTX 1080 Ti's could punch above Titan XP's weight. Obviously if you watercooled a Titan XP that could re take the lead.

I think the GTX 1080 Ti's pricing will be similar to the current GTX 1080 price and launched around the same time as AMD's VEGA. It's the waiting game that's the killer.

I've bought the past Titans, but this is a price to far imho. I want one but I do not need one..

I do not need it...

Welp.

exactly this I totally agree with you, now their have been rumors about Vega coming forward to October I don't think that's going to happen, but it is going to be out Jan/Feb time and with Nvidia always getting one up on AMD expect them to launch Ti around a month earlier and yes people are bonkers if they think nvidia are going to rely on a £800 Ti as being their 'mainstream' high end card to compete with big vega. some people can't accept the fact 1080 price will go down quite a fair bit when Ti launches, I say £650-£700 for the Ti with the 1080 coming in around £525-£550 all speculation at this moment. I'd be willing to bet that by christmas we'll have info and with my new full time job and not part time job, and no commitments, I'll be able to save up and as soon as Ti launches grab a pair hopefully in time for christmas so santa can bring me the goods :D
