The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

With hairworks off but otherwise maxed you get 60fps mostly with dips into 53 at worst on a heavily shadowed forest part on witcher 3. Getting 50-60fps is pretty easy on one titan x mostly. An odd tweak on a setting that looks no different to the setting below can help on some games like the division. Do you really need to run max quality shadows and lose up to 20 fps ?

Witcher 3

Pascal Titan x2 stock

HB SLI bridge

2160p maxed including hair

73fps average and no big dips.

How's the experience compared to 4 Titan X's Kaap?

4 Maxwell Titans on Witcher 3 is better as it scales well and the fps are higher.

Having said that 4 way SLI is great when it works but not a lot of fun if it is badly done.

I think games like GTA V and Watchdogs would also go better on the Maxwells 4 up.

The Tomb Raider games are better with 2 way Pascal even though they support 4 way Maxwell SLI.

It is like everything else to do with GPUs, there is no one solution that works for everything.

Best compromise for overall performance imho would be 2 way Pascal Titan SLI.

+1

I was thinking the same thing...

Can't seem to see any benchmarks out there though.
Would be nice to see how fps differ for a single Titan X Pascal with and without a dedicated Physx / Gameworks card (something like a GTX 980 or Ti) in the likes of Witcher 3, Arkham Knight etc.

Please don't use the above as a guide for older cards as they can take a big performance hit when running Physics and Graphics on the same GPU.

Thank you very much Kaapstad!

Side note - I didn't know Arkham Origins supported SLI, seems it does.

Would you mind running the same test, (single Titan XP) with and without a dedicated Physx card for Wither 3 and Arkham Knight at 4K.

Thank you kindly!!!

Here is Witcher 3, I don't think it uses physics though.

Manage to figure it out. PCIE lanes at 2.0 instead of 3.0 in the bios.

Although still not great scaling. Witcher 3 86fps (SLI) Single card it is at 79fps. 60/70 on GPU usage though :(

Off to try a couple more games to be sure. Can always cancel my TX if its near enough fixed.

Noticed in this Pascal Titan SLI review that they had poor performance with 1080 SLI in Witcher 3.

Don't forget the Pascal Titan uses 369.05 drivers.

even then 4 titans is only 2.5 better than a single titan on gfx scores.

dual titans are what? 805 better so those last two titans have only added 38%.

You do understand the relationship between resolutions and bottlenecking in benching ?

Go and compare this 4 way result for Firestrike Ultra graphics score with my 2 way result in the bench thread.

Score 23160

Titan X (Pascal)(4x) @2025/2740

6950X @4.4

Graphics Score 27215

Physics Score 27054

Combined Score 9927

I would say the scaling is spot on going from 2 to 4 cards. The only important difference is the 4 way result is not using a HB SLI bridge lol.

i do understand but still disappointed :P

Some Firestrike Ultra results to demonstrate.

Below are the best 1, 2 and 4 card scores on the Firestrike ultra bench. Compare the graphics scores.

I would say the scaling is exceptional and don't forget the 4 way one is using a standard SLI bridge.

I ordered mine on the 4th August if that sheds any light on what's happening.

it's in transmit, but not showing as out for delivery today (yet)

Same as me, shows as in transit, the anticipated delivery date was meant to be today but I am doubtful when looking at the DPD package tracking as it isn't showing as in country yet.

What country are you guys in.

watercooling isn't that difficult, it just takes a while to learn, you need to do lots of reading and watch a lot of videos, I learned mostly from watching Jayz2cents

It becomes hard when you try to do rigid tubes rather than soft, but that is more about visual appeal than function

It is however easier to just buy a card with a CLC cooler as standard like the 1080 seahawk, however I understand Titan brand cards do not allow these type of non standard designs.

Generally speaking watercooling is unnecessary nowadays, however if you have something like a 5960X and multiple Titan cards it starts to be useful due to the sheer noise produced by cooling those electronics

The most important bit about watercooling is learning how to use quick disconnects as these are great for working on the loop or changing components. I can swap a set of 4 watercooled cards in and out faster than I can air cooled ones as they all come out as a single unit.

UK for me.

I was just wondering why it is taking so long for you to get your card.

I just looked on the site and they still have them in stock.

When I got mine I ordered a couple on day one after most other people had ordered and another couple the next day. Both times they turned up within 2 working days.
