Sorry I just wanted to save anyone any hassle even though I said my last post about it was my last to avoid any don wrath about competitors, but I'd recommend not going for this deal or the £20 deal with the games as I've just been down to store in question after booking it and they politely told me to naff off :P
 
Someone at work today told me that apparently the slim doesn't allow you to install a second OS on a partition like you can with the original model. Can anyone confirm this?
 
Dammit i was tempted to get one of these, but theyre still too bloody expensive for me =( curse my small student loan!
 
PS3 Slim is now £229.99 at my favourite place. Seriously tempted to swap out my 60GB.

Crazy they are already dropping prices and it is 11 days till release.

I couldn't part with my 60Gb though. I really want a slim due to it being quieter.

The Bitstream HD audio sound killer also.

Engadget did some quick noise tests compared to the regular PS3, think it was a 80GB model. They were roughly about 5dB lower than the PS3 phat although 10dB lower when playing a Blu-Ray movie. It wasn't really in depth though.

I wonder as they have there £3 if you dont get it on release day they well post early? As the Day before is a bank holiday it would have to be sent either Thursday or Friday, in the US some stores are Shipping on the 25th of August. It does seem the other difference (unconfirmed) is that the PSUs in the slim are not region friendly.

But do I keep the slim and give the gf the 60gb (with 300gb hdd) for her bday.. or just give her the slim. Guess I've got till the 3rd of sept to decide lol
 
Giving someone 2nd hand stuff for their birthday is really *****... unless it's like a used England world cup shirt or something :p

Nah she will be getting the slim :) I like my full fat 60 :p
