****The Playstation 3 Slim Thread****

Just this minute posted off my Phat PS3 to a buyer from an auction site.

Already have a preorder for a slim and Batman:AA for 250 quid which I'll pick up on the 3rd (Oz release date).

Felt a bit sad as the postal clerk took it off the counter :(

Just got to get rid of my Xbox 360 elite now, which hasn't been turned on in about 3 months.
 
i have had my slim since Saturday and it is a lot quieter than the phat one that's for sure, it dose not come with FW3.00 on it but as that is out today it will be the first thing most of you will do.

i haven't looked on the action site since i sold my phat but i should think it must be flooded with then by now
 
Just off to get mine in 15mins - looking to see if I can trade in anything else so my outlay is minimal...

My PS3 is all updated formatted and deactivated ready to be sold to a guy at work my Slim is waiting for me at the shop. All good, got the old backup ready to go and i may pick up another HDD for it on the way.

Just so you know (I only realised yesterday). You have to deactivate EACH account, not just the console!!! Only realised after my USA account said activated and my UK one sad deactivated!!

Just got mine - ended up paying £25 + some DS/PS2 games for the new PS3 Slim with 3years extended warranty. They ended up selling me the pricematched £255 Batman: AA bundle and I traded the game there and then for £30 (already got it)

Gonna do some shopping and open it later...

See thats the strange thing i deactivted my main account and all the others said they was all deactivated? Maybe its cause i had just uploaded to 3.0?
 
just turned mine on. wasnt it supposed to be quieter than the 60gb? mines louder at idle and the disc insert noise is louder. not entirely convinced happy atm tbh

Got one reserved at the Bham branch, have to wait until 3 now though as the ex wants to come as she has to go to Primark. :rolleyes:

I'm praying that a certain retailer doesn't reduce the value of thier PS3s by then. Hopefully I'll be able to blag some stuff. :D I've got all the bundle games they offer.

Aye everyone was saying that but my 60gb is wisper quiet can't see how you can improve on that..

Might be the same thing as the fats. Some got loud ones some got quiet
 
My 60Gb was quiet at first but now tbh it's not far off my 360. Cleaned all the dust out of it as well. The lower chip manufacture and the re-design of the cooling system should mean they're quieter but then again they haven't experienced long duration testing so who knows, tis always the problem with buying things at launch.

standard 10%, but it comes with LBH, it's a joke though, my colleague just checked the system and with batman it's 280.... bloody head office. But yeh said supermarket chain doesn't sell them with a game i believe.
 
Just got back with mine :D

Slim + Batman:AA for £250 plus 3years extended warranty £35.

For those of you trading games towards it a certain retailer is offering 20% extra trade in value towards it. No I won't hint where! :p

Traded in 4 old cheap games which got me just over £40 odd.

Total cost was just under £130, not bad if you consider I swapped in a 40gb and come out of it all with a decent £30-40 game which I wanted :)
 
Mine is now busy rebuilding the HDD (takes a while normally) few things ive noted so far, it seems quieter than my month old 80GB, i like the buttons more than the touch things they had before look very nice and illuminate when the PS3 is on. It does look far better in the flest than in photos but it looks more console like rather than a big black monolith. I do get the urge to paint the PS3 bit silver though lol.

I'm jealous !! :o

Mines come in at the video store but the dude won't let me have until Friday :(, he even showed me the box :mad:, should have pre-ordered on-line tbh.

Not the end of the world I guess but being it's my day off it's a little annoying.
