Don't panic too much, i imagine only a massive subwoofer would have a magnetic force large enough to do any real damage, it's more the heat dissipation that i'd be concerned about what with heat being the main killer of both consoles.

TBH im trying to keep everything out of reach from the kids.
 
Didn't bother with mine today. I popped back to the supermarket that messed me around last night only to be told...

"We don't have any Slims in stock". :eek:

Well what a complete farce.

After thinking it over, i've decided that the best way to approach this is by using some common sense. I have a load of games that I want to trade in, so i'm going back to a different store tomorrow morning. They've already agreed to match another store at £240 inc 1 game, plus they're giving 20% extra on trade ins atm so it's a no-brainer.

I'll be there as the door opens in the morning. :)
 
my missus picked me one up today, just have to bath the kids and send em to bed eady for their first day back at school then i can get down to some serious new console sniffing :D

Im in the same boat mate. Cant do any gaming whilst the kids are jumping up & down on the sofa!!
 
Guys have a friend did this little showcase/review and comparison.
I know we have seen all this before but its nice to get real customers opinions...

Same problem I had with them then.

I refuse to believe they have no idea about pricing.
 
Those pics remind exactly how annoying the gloss finish was - happy to get rid of it...

P.S. You dont get a LAN cable like you did with the Phats (the 60Gb deffo had one)...

Damn you guys are tempting me into getting a slim... will require me to play KZ2 all the way through again though (to unlock hardest mode :p)

Might rock into town tomorrow and see what happens...

Pseudo - only the 60's came with a LAN cable - after that they started skimping :p

Ahhh merci Sumanji - glad I gave them a generic one when I traded it in :p

EDIT: BTW just looked at the PS3 Slim box and noticed that the PSU doesnt appear to be for all regions like the Phat (only rated for 220V-240V) and that Ive got pretty much every official PS3 accessory except for Quiz TV and the EyeToy :eek: )

My ps3 slim on Polipods so there is more airflow going across it & underneath so it will be nice and cool.

Before you mention it yes the wiring is untidy, you can barely notice it when sat down normally. One day I,ll tidy it up... :p

I almost got the slim today but i backed out , still think the original is better . I think Sony could have made the new PS3 more funky looking , its very dull & boring ! ! ! !

Yeah you could but polipods do a better job of dampening vibrations and dispense the heat better than normal rubber which would get hot underneath which is what you want to avoid.

Ever since I used them with my sky box which used to drive me insane I swear by them now.

Back on topic of the slim, I much prefer the real buttons instead of having to guess If I have pressed down hard enough.

Its much less of a dust/finger mark magnet too :)
 
Stupid question - would I expect a Backup/Restore to restore all my media and games (including demos and saves) back how they were?

All my media is in one folder by type (Photo, Music and Video) and not in the albums I set them up as and I seem to have no PSN games, no demos (some which arent available anymore) and no saves what-so-ever.

Seems a pointless backup/restore mechanism as nothing been setup how it was and now I still need to dl games/demos/DLC etc...

Could this do with something my PS3 said about restoring unregistered accounts or something? Had * against all my old accounts...
