There is a known problem with Uncharted and firmware 3.0. Sony will have to issue another firmware update to fix it.
only just noticed last night that there's no on/off switch! which is annoying for me as i have it linked to my pc speakers and when the ps3 is on standby, i can hear this sort of static buzzing from the speakers..![]()

PlayStation 3 sales rocket 1000% on slim release
Chart-Track has told GamesIndustry.biz that sales of the PlayStation 3 have rocketed 999 per cent over the past week.
Sony introduced the new, slimmer SKU last Tuesday, and although Chart-Track does not reveal actual sales numbers, Dorian Bloch, director of the firm called the growth "a huge increase".
"The uplift on week 36 on week 35 is plus 999 per cent," revealed Bloch. "We don't give out the hardware numbers, but never-the-less it's a very large increase."
The boost in sales will be a pleasing early start to the Christmas season for Sony, which told GamesIndustry.bizlast month that it expected the redesign to pull in new consumers.
"I think what I've heard anecdotally is that this is the point people were waiting for - a redesigned model and, in Euros, a significant price reduction," said Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. "That's people's cue to jump into the business."
The PlayStation 3 has been remodelled earlier in the its lifecycle than the PlayStation 2. The PS2 slim, released in the 24th week of 2004, helped sales jump 310 per cent.
The news follows a climb in Xbox 360 sales of 43 per cent last week, due to the price cut for the Elite model to GBP 199.
This week, sales for the Elite were still up in the region, said Chart-Track, an increase of 29 per cent over last week's growth.
PS3 sales up 999%
Sales of Sony's redesigned Slim beat Xbox 360, Wii and DS Lite by 3:1
Having launched at UK retail last Tuesday, Sony’s PS3 console has enjoyed a colossal week-on-week sales jump, with numbers of ChartTrack’s Week 36 showing a 999 per cent sales increase over the week before.
ChartTrack has told MCV that it is not releasing specific sales numbers, but did say:
“The sales increase is very impressive, making the PS3 the top selling hardware in Week 36. The Xbox 360, Wii and DS Lite all sold around the same amount last week – PS3 Slim outsold each of them by a ratio of three-to-one.”
The sales-tracking firm added that it’s unsure how long the uplift will continue for.
“The longevity of this uplift very much depends on the time of year. The PS2 Slim was released in November, much closer to Christmas. We’ll have to wait and see how things work out for Sony this time.”
Judging that it only was on sale from the 3rd 150K in 3 days aint to bad.The Playstation 3 has its biggest week in terms of hardware sales this past week in Japan. According to the Japanese video game website Famitsu, the system has sold 150,832 units in that region from August 31 to September 6. A vast majority of the units sold (150,252) could be attributed to the launch of the Playstation 3 Slim and its new lowered price tag of 29980 yen on September 3.
That is quite an impressive and much-needed performance for Sony, especially considering that the Playstation 3 sold fewer than 15,000 units in all of August. In total, the Playstation 3 has sold 3,431,964 units so far in Japan.
It would be interesting to see how the rest of the world reacts to the new Playstation 3 model.
Oh dear. Poor Microsoft doesn't stand a chance now that the PS3 steamrolling has begun in Japan. Mwahahahaha.
