Power consumption

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10318727-1.html

The power consumption of PS3 Slim uses less than the half of first-gen PS3 which is great. The same can be said for playing Blu-ray, however it uses 81 watts which is still a lot as compared to Samsung's standalone Blu-ray Player using only 22 watts.

But I suppose it's a no big deal cos most movies are around 1-2 hours playing time.

Well it is a games console, after all, so it's never going to be as efficient as a dedicated player. If you've already got a Blu-ray player obviously it makes sense to use that instead, but for everyone else a bit of extra power usage is still much, much cheaper than buying another device.

True, I don't play games much but maybe I will think twice if the price drops to £200.

certain store are doing a trade in against your old ps3 60gb and 69 quid for a new slim...think I will go for that!

Send in your console and it costs $149 to change the colors.... :/

Just sold my Wii for £120 cash, tempted to put it towards a slim mainly for Blu Ray but also for games since I think my 360 is on it's way out. It did RROD but then recovered :(
