The Polaris RX 480 Owners Thread.

Am SOOOOO tempted - new shinny's !!!:)

But as am running 2 x (4gb)290 (waterblocks on both)and a non freesync 34" 3440x1440 Dell monitor I cannot think of any good reason to change :(

Unless someone can help with a really good reason to change that will not involve a divorce , it looks as tho I will be waiting for Vega (unless nvid halve their prices? - probable ???).

If you're water-cooling you'd be crazy! The block would cost half as much as the card!
 
If you guys are up for it, could one of you undervolt the card and see what the impacts are on temps and performance? I've got mine but am working late tonight so can't do any testing :(

And, the same question to you actually. Why not wait until a custom board comes up? I know it's for a review, but, you waited for a custom 1080. Isn't only fair you wait for a custom 480 as well?

I wanted to see how they go in quadfire which means I had to use the reference cooler.:)

I don't like to wee on cornflakes but I just can't see how the extra 4GB is worth the money. This is a fab card at £170-180, over £200 not so much, especially if you have MM access.

[Edit] Having thought about it, I can see the benefit if you're going to be running Crossfire.

Agree I got 4GB for 175 and have overclocked to 1300mhz / 8000mhz no problem. I'll be replacing the card in a year so will get an 8GB vega then, no way am paying an extra 50 quid for some extra RAM that most of the time I won't even use.

You maybe, but I've got the full 8 coming - running on 3440 x 1440 you see - this is just a tide-me-over until big Vega turns up. Had a FuryX but sold it for a good price 3+ months back and feeling some pain on skylake HD530 even on basic browsing.

A DPD van just rolled into the works car park, but their website says hes still 12 deliveries away - probably a different van/driver/route.

Got mine this morning, thanks OCUK. Will put in my current case, but when EKWB bring out there block ill be moving it all into a Fractal Design Define S :)
