Unless your running a willy wonka board from China then yes. But any decent PSU and mobo will power that with ease.
You can not beat a good Asus Rampage motherboard that loves lots of extra wattage.

4 cards
Hi Kaap, congrats on your cards, just wondering why you didn't wait for custom cards? The stock cooler on these is supposed to be bad and only has 6 pin connector?
Same card ordered as Stulid and looking forward to testing it on Friday. Bit jealous of you guys with yours already :(
And, the same question to you actually. Why not wait until a custom board comes up? I know it's for a review, but, you waited for a custom 1080. Isn't only fair you wait for a custom 480 as well?
Have a look at my post on the 1st page for bench results.
For the games I play it will run them maxed out with decent fps.
So if you're happy with high you should have no probs.
Hope this helps.
Not sure why people are saying this thing is loud.
It kept full boost at 1266MHz, max was 81C and fan speed was max 827RPM.
This is in a Bitfenix Phenom MATX case as well.
You sure it's 827?
As the lowest I can set is 1040.
I don't know, must be GPU-Z thats reading it wrong then.
What versions of the card do you both have? 4GB or 8GB? Could be bios differences between the different models.
Mine shows as 1792 in WattMan and also in gpu-z when running tomb raider bench.
Just found the 4GB XFX edition for £173.99... decisions decisions! £25 for an extra 4gb? Is it worth it at 1080p, thinking of 12 months down the line too?
