The Police Application Thread

Hi all.

Just about too submit my app form to the West Mids Force for a reg. Also going to send one off for the specails, just as a backup :) Some of the questions are quite challenging but was good fun doing the app form. Always wanted too be a bobby, so i hope i pass this first hurdle!

just a quicky about the app form. Just finished my ruff copy and was wondering what exactly are the requirements of handwritting? i.e can it be a little bit scruffy but readable? or does it have to be perfect, pritned and godlike?

oneale90, I write like I've used my teeth. As long as it's ledgable, then you'll be fine. However, any more than 10 mistakes (spelling, grammar, crossing outs etc) and it will be rejected. So go carefully!

I was giving serious thought to applying as a Special with one of my neighbouring forces, either Merseyside, Greater Manchester or Cheshire, whom I've just discovered as it happens, are holding a recruitment seminar on Monday 13th, which by sheer coincidence, I've just happened to book off work. I was planning to serve sometime as a Special and gain some perspective of what the job entailed before applying for a full officer's position, but now I find myself sorely tempted to chance my hand.

Do it, you gotta be in it to win it :)

If the open days are any thing like ours were down here, it will open your eyes and you will get a lot from it. Let us know how you get on :)

ok mate, thanks for that. I think my writing is awful, but everybody says its fine. Had to put a fixed pen for not wearing a seatbelt down though :( hope they don't reject because of this !
