The Police Application Thread

I failed first time round, dont let it put you off. It's character building and when you succeed the 2nd time you will be very proud - I was. Good Luck!

I failed my interview by one bloody mark

After hearing the feedback I'm pretty annoyed with myself. I could have done so much better but thats all perfectly obvious now I know what they're after.

I can go for another interview in a month apparently.:mad::mad:

Unlucky Burnsy. I'm still waiting for my bloody interview date and I passed the PIRT over a month ago

Unlucky mate, just concentrate on the interview next month and you'll pass it. At least you know what to expect now.

Do it. :)

Act on your feedback and work on it, I failed to get in first time around Burnsy. There is no shame in it.

As Von said, treat it as a wake-up call and do better next time. You obviously know you can. Good luck.

Its the waiting that I can't stand. I can be very patient on most things, but for some reason I really want to get my teeth into this and it's so frustrating that I have to wait yet another month.

I'm not going to give up, but I've never failed an interview before, so I think I may have been a little under-prepared and maybe a bit overconfident. Now that this has brought me down a peg or two, I think the next test shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Driclor is awesome. I stopped using it for ages but have recently started again and wish I had sooner. Although my pits were on fire the first couple of nights after starting to use it again :p

Agreed :)

Go for it again Burnsy! Do it, do it, do it! :)

It is a whole process of waiting around though, my application is nearly 2 years old now!

Well i would love to apply but im colourblind, does anyone know if that would affect me? i've heard it means i cant physically be in the poilce force

Do you get your £100k lump sum Von, or did you join after they stopped it?

On retirement I assume you mean ?

After 30 years pensionable service or less if you have a previous pension to transfer it is currently around £115k with a 2/3 final salary each month.

It's a decent pension it has to be said but costs me 11% salary each month.

Ah you're on PPS plan then Von,

How does the NPPS retirement stand up compared to it?

In my view, not good.

They stipulate 35 years service for a start although there are amendments for transfer of benefits to a civil partner should you be killed.

I and others were asked if we wanted to move to an NPPS and it was a resounding no.

Sorry V0n, what's the main differences between the two plans?
