The politically correct folk turn their attentions to Only Fools and Horses?

Honestly though, who is the person in the OP and why should we care of their opinion? It is an opinion piece after all in the "lifestyle" section of some internet rag. May as well be Farcebook.

Do people actively go looking for these opinions just to then (ironically) get triggered?

Only Fools is quality and a number of people 25-30 certainly have watched it before and know the jokes.

Times change, but the past can't be re-written. Censoring old stuff when the re-runs are shown on TV I'm fine with, although sometimes it's OTT (Auf Wiedersehen is cut to shreds...). Some of these people are just trying to take away the ability for people to think for themselves. Which is probably why so many can't seem to... But, Ive never once looked at some of the bad things that are said in the programs mentioned here and thought "that's the way we do it." If it's wrong, it's wrong. I can decide for myself.

I'm guessing that some people probably do actively look for them, other people probably just stumble upon them by accident and then comment on them..not really any different to how some people probably actively look for threads where people have commented on them and then comment themselves and other people, like yourself, stumble across the thread where someone has commented on them and feel the need to comment on the commentors. Thats the internet for you in a nutshell really, a bunch of people commenting on stuff and a bunch of people commenting on people commenting on stuff and then another bunch of people commenting on people commenting on people commenting on stuff :D

Even if you watch Pheonix Nights now you realise that Channel 4 would never commision it in this day and age.

The last decade has seen a real ideological shift with the hard left basically getting in bed with big tech and capitalism and making their new role hunting out how they can best be offended. Social media gives these loons a voice and the mainstream media constantly highlights this minority to feed click bait outrage articles.

Only fools is not one of the issue that will be the downfall of our society.

Well it was popular 30 years ago. Doubt anyone under the age of 50 cares in 2020. Back in the early 80s comics like Bernard Manning were still popular too.

It's disingenuous to judge 30 year old content by the moral standards of the current era.

Im 31 and binged the whole series about 4 years ago. Obviously i had seen episodes growing up but I absolutely loved it and many of my friends do also so i consider you wrong about the under 50's not caring.

When I say I doubt, it means not many. OK, so at least 3 people under 50 have watched it, including the offended journo who went looking for something to moan about. Any update from the other 40 odd million people not surveyed yet?

I love OFAH, I have watched it a lot growing up and now watching it on Netflix.. Still makes me chuckle everytime :)

I'm 31 and its pretty popular amongst people I know.

Seems a bit silly, in the 80s a cockney guy like Del probably did refer to some women as an “old dog” and some “tart” etc..

Likewise some old guy probably did have trouble with foreign names etc...

So the characters have flaws? So what? It’s still a funny show and the product of it’s time.

Reviewer could perhaps note that it also had a reasonably diverse cast for its time too.

She got challenged about her pish on twitter and just blocked people questioning her. No surprise there, just an outraged 20 something year old from the looks of her.

Ironically it lost the BBC my cash as i refuse to pay for thier trash but got only fools and horses, Phoenix nights and it aint half hot mum on boxset just incase they pulled it. These people are basically modern day book burners.

I suspect the person the OP is talking about lives a sheltered life by the look of her.

She'd be shocked if she went in some parts of the country today because people still speak in a similar way.

None of this is true. Merry Christmas :D
