Thanks knowlesy. What your talking is some bad post processing my me. I blurred the top and added a gradient which looking back has ruined it a little.
Heres a better version. I think it works better as letter box:

Well i got a D60 at first, but it was DOA, wouldnt turn on.
Store had none left so offered a D40 instead, with kit lens, 55-200 and 50mm 1.8 for the same price as the D60+Kit lens as a straight swap.
Figured it was well worth it, even though the 50mm wont AF With a D40 but still

As i said above, the D60 was Dead on Arrival 
Shop had no stock and swapped for a D40 + 3 lens pack (Kit, 55-200 and 50mm F1.8 which wont AF on D40 but heard its a great lens anyway?) for the same cost.
And yeah, u get lots of funny looks
not really from the staff though, just your typical stuck up member of the public who thinks a guy taking pictures of flowers is intruding upon their life somehow.
