The spider was tricky enough with a slight breeze on the web it was sat on.

Me too, sometimes you think "ah got the focus spot on" and then when you check the resulting image the part you wanted isn't! Doh. Get it right and its amazing. Tremendous fun but hard work

Was this used on the Nikon 18-55 kit lens? I have the same lens myself, I think I'll pick up a few macro tubes if that's the case.

As Derek pointed out its the Canon 18-55 - but I can't see why you couldn't get similar results with the nikon one.

Well there are two consolations a) thats not a Bee, I think its a Hover fly? - and b) the flower was a bit tatty.

Btw - following on from that, can anyone suggest any good books to identify flower / fungi and Insects?

Thanks, yeah its a really nice view. I sometimes forget how lucky i am to live in an area with nice views like this.

I'm going to drive over to those windmills (on top of the hill on the right of the picture) tomorrow to get some long exposure shots of them.
