I really like that - it works so well that having the horizon split the vertical 50/50 doesn't seem to matter at all.

Having said that, it also looks good with the sand cropped off the bottom.

what camera were you using? I have the non-is 70-200 f4l and thinking about getting the 1.4x, I have a 300d(looking to upgrade to a x0d in the future) will it af and will it effect the iq much?

I'm using a 5D Mark II. With a 1.4x you'll still get AF as the 1.4 only looses you one stop. There is a hit on iq but the 70-200f4 is so sharp and contrasty in the first place that you're not degrading it to such an extent that it becomes noticeable.
 
My mum accidentally destroyed a robins nest with 3 baby robins in it.. so i rebuilt their nest, and although the nest was in a slightly different place the parents managed to find their young :) ... after a short search for them. :D
