another attempt at the river scene, different dress, slightly different angle + comp, and less harsh lighting. I wish i had a slightly wider lens, i was as far back as i could get, wide as possible on the kit lens (so its a bit soft!) and i still missed the big splash to right. I just could get position as any further back i was too high on the bank.

Was that using off camera flash? My next photography purchase I think, when I have the money. :o

It's tough. I decided a telephoto was the best for removing people...

I just waited for a few mins whilst people moved, poised to take the shot & since my background was just a few M wide it didn't take too long.

. It was at the Gloucester motorshow actually - did you go?

Unfortunately no, I didn't even know about it until you posted some pics! I really need to read the paper more!

The cars at Kemble were pretty rammed in and perhaps I just picked a busy time. The old Williams F1 cars there were mobbed! I had to throw a couple of cheeky elbows at one point! :D

rojin, what lens did you use for the cobra (or lookalike - car knowledge not great)

As already said a 24-70 @ 24mm. I did also have a circular polariser which helped with reflections on the front wings :)

Adam W - The last pick is stunning, love the rings leading away from her foot, and the flick of water from her other leg. Do you just use remote flashes, or do you combine them with umbrellas etc?

Just diffusers on the two wireless flashes. The whole flash setup was just north of $150. I now want more!

A couple of shots today from my local Cathedral. HDR converted to B&W and a 12 photo pano of the outside, again converted to B&W :)

EDIT might have to redo the pano shot again

Now I know these aint great pictures, they were taken on my phone, my DSLR was stuck at home, couldn't help but pass up this oppurtinity.

This little feller made a visit to my work the other day, knocking over furniture and bashing into windows... The wee chap wasn't camera shy in the slightest. Quite happy for me to shove my phone in his beak.

Sometimes the best camera you can have is the one you keep with you at all times...
