Playing around with my new minolta 28mm 2.8. Seller was kind enough to include three filters. A UV one a polarizing one and a CPL one.

I'd imagine so, it's a sealed lens and camera.

I was talking to a guy this weekend who dropped his in sea water on a svalbard trip, and I've had mine in the rain/snow.

They're tough stuff TBH. (see sig for more of my evidence!)

The 5.56am sunrise is an unedited shot using the 2sec timer and holding the camera as still as possible. Any comments welcomed as I believe this is my best sunrise pic so far....

dont tell that to the (now ex) army tog over on TP who swapped to D3's after a spate of canon failures.. he'll enjoy that debate :D

Are you referring to Arkady; he was very unlucky with his kit IMO. As far as I'm aware a 1D/D3 are equally tough, I think he felt the Mark III AF let him down too much alongside one or two tech issues IIRC?

I'm pretty sure if you asked him he'd tell you the different countries that use Canon/Nikon kit. It was about 60:40 in favour of Canon a few years back, now thats reversed.

If I could afford the latest kit I'd switch, but for me 2x1DII's are better than 2xD2's. When I'm at the D3/1DIII stage I'll switch (middle of next year). It shouldn't cost me any more to swtich really. It's like for like with most of my stuff. But the 1DII's are better than the D2's so untill I've got to that point. I'll stick with the best.
