Thoughts? I'm unsure what to make of it myself...I was playing with processing on the train...
My first thoughts were that I don't know what to make of it either. If it's purely a technical exercise in a different processing technique I'm not sure if it's been successful or not as I don't know what you're aiming for.

As a photograph and when compared to your other work, it's nothing special. The composition is muddled, my eye is drawn to the object poking into the bottom left of the frame and there's nothing really on show to keep my attention.

So it's an overall shrug from me I'm afraid.

I'm minded to agree really, I was just playing with a little cross processing, there's something I like about it but it's not fantastic...meh...some more from the same set anyway....

And a portrait for good measure... (I'm going to clone out those lights in the top right sometime)

Now you're talking.

The first one of the road is sublime. if I was being incredibly picky, and I am, I'd like the framing to be a little tighter as the gap between the frame and the tree trunk on the left and the small section of foliage on the horizon to the right are distractions for me, but it's an absolute corker all the same.

I'm not sure what to make of DSC_4198 though. It's a lovely scene and I keep looking at it, but something feels a little flat about it. It's almost as if there's too much fine detail in the foliage which, for me, detracts from the overall scene.

DSC_4909 is a cracker though. I'd reframe if it were one of mine (chop the top piece of sky off and crop the bottom to where the snow ends and the sand starts) but I'm being heavily critical over something that's otherwise a thing of beauty.

It bothers me, I took maybe 50 shots down there, it was spell-bindingly beautiful but I've really struggled to capture it, that's the best of what I got in my opinion. May just be one of those things, some scenes just don't translate well to photos...

Do excuse the pun, but watch your reflections with stuff like that.

I like the composition but I can't stop my eye from being drawn to the pair of hands holding a camera.

To be honest I just took a few quick shots for posting in the 'What watch do you wear' thread in GD and was more concerned with making sure there wasn't any glare from my flash but when i saw them on screen I did see my hands in the reflection. I guess its a disadvantage having a nice shiny new watch :D Point taken for future 'product' shots though :)

could have moved the crisp packet from the foreground dan ;) good to see you posting again though. Look forward to your inevitable macro shots in the warmer months :D

Cheers guys, really appreciate the encouragement its just what I need to get my photography mojo back.

not sure what that is in the foreground, it was attached to a bit of rope. I might see what it looks like cloned out.

defo waiting for the warmer weather befor any macro shots, I'm tired of the cold now.
