Two from last week snowboarding in Val Thorens.

I was in Val Thorens last week too stunning week for it. Didn't take any photos though, I fall over too much to risk a decent camera in my bag/pocket.

After seeing a similar thing posted on TalkPhotography I thought I'd have a go. Basically just macro shots of water bubbles with a touch of food dye.

Oh and no judge comments please as I 'may' use one of these or variation of this months comp entry.

I have, but I had been intending on doing one of these (and using it for the comp) when I spotted everyone on TP having a go. Would have had pics sooner but when I first tried this a week or so back the bubbletank I had assembled wasn't water tight so had to cancel that attempt.

Very nearly made an impulse buy... Nikon D40 for £150 and an 18-35mm Sigma lens for £60. Probably would have gone for it if i had a bank account

I'd keep it on topic by posting a picture but i haven't taken many lately... unless you want one of my nephew?

Some nice shots of Coombe Abbey there! (I was there the other week)

I'm not expert I wouldn't even call myself an amature meerly a goon with a camera but some of them look like they could do with adjusting so they are level. I like them though

sunday afternoon and some time to kill, so i dragged my wife out for some shots in a nature reserve. The sky was a boring shade of white, so i took an umbrella and flash along.

Excellent shots and a nice style.

Out of curiosity what lens and settings did you use? I see you used a 400D. I really want to get into Macro photofraphy!

I need to try and get my head around what can be done in lightroom as I'm yet to have a proper play with it.

Funnily enough while I can't afford the Canon one, I been looking at the Sigma 30mm which would be perfect for my crop sensor.
