*** The Proper 7950 GX2 owners Thread ***

I know its just to GT's bolted together but how would you setup the motherboard to accept it? would the EZ-Plug need to be connected, i'm guessing it will take two SLI power connectors. Will the mobo need to be set to SLI or will it work as a single card....

That also leads to another question, is the Antec 550W TP2.0 enough ?

Anyone got this working with the Asus A8N Premium ? Does it need a bios update ?

Is it a worthwhile increase from a X1900XTX when getting at 1920*1200 ?

Yes, lots of questions...

:D

works fine with the A8N Premium, No need for a Bios update at least I didn't need to.

That PSU is ample.

It is certainly a big increase from 2 x XFX Extreme 7800's.

EZ plug I havent tried it without it. But its only 1 molex connector!

I,d say go for it! :D

I,ve got the XFX 570/1550.

and i.m very happy with it :D

Nice, i'll probably just buy the stock one and overclock a bit... Looking at reviews the performance difference isnt big and they use the same coolers.

Ordered the Gainward BLISS GeForce 7950 GX2 .... Will be here tomorrow. :)

Yay, I get coolbits and game profiles again ! :D Just hope it works....

I note that on the box text of my XFX 7950 GX2, it states this;
"Pair two GeForce 7950 GX2-based graphics cards together for quad SLI"

But on my control panel for the graphics card, there is no option anywhere for SLI, are the drivers for this not available yet?

Cheers

Chris

From what I've read so far I think its set to SLI automatically but still requires SLI profiles for it to work.

Thanks for that :), How exactly do I get/find an SLI profile?
I have always had ATI cards before this, and I think I have been spoilt with the monthly CAT drivers, but am not sure what the hell I need to download to update all aspects of my NVidia card and the software on my ASUS M2N32-SLI Delux mobo!

The SLi Profiles are included with the drivers, so download the newest driver you can find..

Search for forceware 91.31, I believe thats the latest available which work..

Quad SLi has not been implemented in the drivers yet, its coming though soon in a later set, and i guess when you pair them up for Quad the options will appear. :)

Yeh it'll work but not a full speed , A8N premium has to have the 1011.006 bios or only half the card will be active.

Ok, Just installed the card... Ran 3dmark06 and got 5200 ! why isnt SLI enabled?

I have updated to recommended bios and using the latest driver... 91.31.. :(

Help ?

Also i'm only getting the gpu temp for one core...shouldnt I get the temp for each core if is SLI is working?

No you only get 1 core temp reading.

Have you enabled sli in control panel?

Sorry, I think something in the bios was set wrong or something... Changed SLI aperture to auto, reinstalled driver it it seems ro be working now

Strangely its called 7950 and thats what it scored.. LOL :)

7957 :D

Does coolbits work with the new control panel and this card?

yes it does :p

Progress so fair... This cards a beast...

8584 :)

Last update... Fairly happy with the OC

8746 :D

Running everything at 600/1600 now, so why exactly are people spending the extra for the preoverclocked cards? seems a waste to spend £100 more for overclocks you can achieve yourself and pass. :D
