100f? That's only like 40c or something, lol that's nothing at all.

You go in a 40*C heat and say that!

I was in france when there was that heatwave that killed a few thousand people and that was well hot! Think it was 40*C to 45*C.

Yeah I thought that was the temperature of the console at first.

Still, not that big a deal, I played my PS3, 360, Xbox, PS2, GC in a room that gets up to 30c in the summer, I doubt another 10 degrees or so would make too big a difference.

10 degrees is quite a lot y'know!

It started at 100 (38c) and went up to 120 (49c) for the last 24 hrs, consider that even DVD player, that has similar moving parts inside but without the heat generated by high speed processor and a GPU operating temp spec is between 5c-40c, I don't think the PS3 does bad at all.

What would you rather have, a reliable gun with no ammo, or a semi reliable gun with plenty of ammo?
I would rather have a reliable gun with a small amount of ammo than a gun that has boxes of ammo but has a 30% chance of locking up when your right in the middle of a gun fight! :p

Hey I don't think it's bad either, I just don't think it's anything to rave about, we shouldn't have to have tests done on a console like this in the first place.

The only reason these tests were done is because the 360 has a cooling error, didn't really need someone doing a test, we can see the tiny % of faulty PS3s indicates it's reliable.

I would go back to the green grocers if I were you jihad - sounds like a case of sour grapes to me :p

But its nice to know, that should we all live in the North Pole we are OK to take our PS3s.

Then again i doubt the 360 would have any cooling problems up there :p

Off topic I know, but good job with that PS3 sticky msmalls, when do you think you will have it finished by?

The high temps are quite impressive, but the cold temp approx -20c is very impressive, and only started to suffer slowdown about the 0f Mark.
Be interesting if when released they test the Falcon (65nM), Zephyr (extra heat sinks/ m/glue mod) and the original 360s in the same test, not to compare with the PS3 but more with the various 360 models.

O.T. again should be done in the morning, got carried away doing stuff tonight (apart from posting on here), couldn't give my full attention, so will finish later.

yes, 49C room temperature is a very big deal. thats like putting it out in the deserts of egypt and expecting it to run just fine. some people are underplaying that i think lol. yes its completely pointless, but id be impressed if it were a 360 and not a ps3. people really need to stop making these futile comparisons. were not all a bunch of 12 year olds.

thats quite impressive really. 108 hours in a 100f + temperature. very few eletrical devices can claim that lol.

I wish I knew what that was in real temperature... I mean ffs Farenheit is a useless temp to measure in.

Celcius makes sense :D
