Hello OC,
I just got my new and shiny "gigabyte rx6800xt gaming oc". I own 2 AOC G2460PG monitors. I installed fresh windows 10 and the latest Adrenalin drivers. I face 2 major problems at the moment and I made this account specifically to ask if anyone else experiences these issues.
Setup:
- drivers are set as default i have not done any additional settings.
- monitors are connected with display ports both if them.
- i have had these monitors for 5 years and used a nvidia 980ti with them up until the new gpu with no issues of any sort.
Computer:
- Computer Type: Desktop

Problem 1. When i boot into windows 1 of the 2 monitors tends to be locked in 640x480@59hz resolution and there are no available modes in the properties. What then have to do is set windows not to extend the displays but to show only on the one with the 1920x1080@144hz resolution pull the cable from the second monitor, plug it back in and set it to extend and then it works fine until:
Problem 2. If i leave the monitors to turn off because of power saving and i come back in lets say an hour, and move the mouse, one of the two monitor presents with artifacts and eventually switches off with a no-signal message. I remove the cable and plug it back in - works fine.
Troubleshooting:
- I have reinstalled the drivers multiple times
- I have re-seated the GPU and changed the PCI port
- I bought new display-port cables
- I set custom resolution in the AMD drivers which seems to have made the resolution issue show less often, but still happens
- I tried switching between Clone, Extend, Show only on X to see if i can fix it without hot swap. Doesn't work, but when set to Clone I can see the GPU is trying to output 1920x1080 on the display showing 640x480
Other information:
- In device manager the Monitors tend to show as "Generic PnP Monitor", but I can see in the properties the model has been identified by windows.
- IN device manager I can see there is a 3d monitor which from the properties seems to be labeled as AMD
