Well no VAT for a start, but it begs the question why some markets appear to be better stocked than the UK?

Because they prefer NV cards and many people take Asrock as 2/3 tier brand.

But £700 is still cheap and lucky to have stock, just checked other hk shops with online price list show no stock or over £800

No vat make it cheaper but rma can be real pain in hk, you have to go to local distributor office with shop receipt for repair/replacement.

If the HK$ wasn't as strong against the pound those 6800s would be £450. That was the case when I lived there, pc kit was WELL cheap ;)

I am thinking to ask a friend in hk to get one if still have stock but don't think stock will last that long. I still have my cash giveaway from last year in my hk bank account and maybe it is time to spend now. :D

HK wasn't that cheap last few years due to skyrocket rent. But even cheaper I don't like to shop there now, shop staffs usually rude and need to watch out some dodge shops who give you opened box as new. Also people there now will check price or buy from rainforest US and oldegg.

Worth a go, the shops in Kowloon seem best place. Rent was always expensive, but i felt well off compared to UK because tax so much less. Happy days and still love the place!

In Hong Kong’s case it has always been proximity to the factories that make the items. This has been compounded by cheap chipping from factories to Hong Kong and the North-Apac region and very expensive shipping outside of the North-apac bubble i.e to U.K.

30 years ago it was the best place to buy a mini-disc player with models you wouldn’t see the U.K for prices that were ridiculously low, not much has changed.

It’s not all roses, U.K. has a better market for clothes, food, art and a load of other items i don’t have the time to type out. For consumer electronics and watches though, HK every time!

Yeah that's true. A night out on the beers in HK was never a cheap affair :).
Anyhow you red team guys, my HK mate is really pleased with his new 5800X-6800XT setup, and so he should be!

Yes tax is less compare to UK but without paying NI, a lot of services aren't free. Good for single or young couple to spend sometime working there but not for family with kids.

I will try to ask him but he is not going to computer shops that often now. Also shipping the card over will be another thing to consider. Need to pack and also declare the value of this "hdmi video adapter":p:D

6800 XT has pretty good RT and not sure how the 3090 would be much better in 3d rendering?

I get at least 40 FPS (at 1440p, 70 vs 110) more with RT on Ultra in Cold war with my 3090 FE compared to the 6800XT Nitro +

So far for the last week I've left RT on Ultra and have not looked back (DLSS only gives 5 FPS uplift but prefer native image anyway)

Cyberpunk I get 110 FPS with RT ON at 1440p

Overall really happy I made the change for the reasons above and I can do some 3d modelling too with ease.

I wonder if HK also has that 1 card policy where only 1 card per customer.. if not may ask my brother to buy a few and ship them to me. I know it's slightly off topic but whats the msrp for a 5700 / xt? Shopping around i did notice some for around $4500HKD

Looking forward to fitting this to my card soon.

(NZXT H1 for scale)

Now just need to wait for AMD and Bungie to sort their **** out and make D2 playable on the 6000 series GPU's... Currently it can go from being pretty damn good (90+FPS at 3440x1440) to utterly terrible (<50fps at 1080p) depending on the map. Huge thread over on the Bungie forums about it.

Meanwhile it H:ZD I am seeing roughly 40% increase from my overclocked 2070Super at a higher resolution (3440x1440 vs 2560x1440).
