baffles me that amazon let people get away with this, i mean surely its not that hard to track the original purchaser....
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

i get how they do it, what i don't get is amazon is clearly losing money and id have thought it would be in there interest to put better measures in place to stop and track the original purchaser.Sometimes it isn't them. Scammers will buy things, and return it, supposedly unopened and unused back to them and they will send it out to someone else. It's common on there, especially with CPUs. Many people bought Ryzen and actually got a manky old AM2 Athlon.
They (I am not mentioning them by name) don't check things properly. I used to buy from their warehouse all of the time. Mostly because it was cheap AF, and any risk was negated by a small pain in sending it back if it hadn't been tested properly etc. Then they clocked onto it, and now the warehouse prices are only about 3% less than buying new. And you still take that risk, so it's not even worth it.
I bought my 6800XT from OCUK. It was IMO a stellar bargain. £728. Now I know that's only about £100 less than a new one (it was B grade, but had all of the peel off crap on it) but it was the type of card that made it far more attractive to me. It's the Strix, meaning it has the 240 rad on. And this was absolutely essential because the case I bought for £400 (and am not replacing because it's bloody gorgeous) can only take water cooled parts. I wanted a rig that was reliable for my home rig, so I put AIOs in it. Meaning I either needed a 240 AIO cooled GPU or I spend over £200 on putting one under water. So in ways I literally deduct that £200 off the cost of the GPU and all of a sudden I have bought a 6800XT for £528. The fastest XT there is.
Ironically the very next day a 3080 seahorse or whatever came up for £750, but I am wary of 10gb of VRAM. And besides, in what I play and wanted it for (PUBG, so UE) the 6800XT is quite a clip faster than the 3080 too.

Cheers Gibbo. I've been keeping an eye on 3080's creeping under £800 here over the past couple of weeks to replace my 1080Ti, but this price was just too good to say no to.![]()
Happened to me a few years ago. I bought a 500GB Crucial SSD from Amazon but when I opened it what I actually got was a 14 year old 80gb laptop IDE drive. That's why I tend to buy my gear from OCUK now, and now I'm eyeing up one of those 6800s at £589 that Gibbo mentioned. Damn you GibboHappened me one time as well, bought a 980ti strix and it was a geforce 580 or something in the box. They refunded it no bother but it was obviously a return they sold on as new.
You could probably drop in a 5600X for not a lot after selling your 3600X.I still despise my 6800xt due to the AMD CSGO issue. Other than that its not bad but performance is limited by my cpu big time on fortnite etc 3600x.

Maybe. No guarantee with these unverified adapters, but in theory it should work.So I just managed to get myself a 6800xt, upgrading from a nvidia 970, my current monitors run at 1080p 144hz, but all 3 use DP cables, the 6800xt has 2x DP 1x HDMI and 1x USB-C
Can I use a USB-C to DP connector to get 3rd monitor running?
Cleared out the old Nvidia drivers fully? If you have a spare drive try it on a fresh install to see how it runs.Hi guys I just bought the Sapphire RX6800XT Nitro + and it seems to have issues running Density coming from a gtx 1080 ti which ran D2 a lot better. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help.
