The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

After around 4 months and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Finally getting to a nice point on the double storey extension on my house.
I now have a proper corner that I can be proud of, Ikea Thyge 1600 x 800 desk with all my kit, not just shoved under the stairs on some puny black glass and chrome argos *****.
Sorry If this is off topic.
I can see the 6900XT in all its glory.

Looks really nice. :)

True, but if I screw anything up before September next year I get to choose between gaming hardware or my daughter's wedding expenses...

...and she'll be really upset with me :p

Bride and Groom traditionally give the top table presents. Make sure this tradition is in your daughters mind and tell her its tradition to buy the Father-in-law a GPU. ;)

Good idea, I guess I goofed up by gifting her fiancé an Xbox Series S with an Acer monitor after his xbox died, when it should be the other way around. I'm already blessed to have 3 gaming PC's, with a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900XT, Asus ROG STRIX RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition, Asus TUF Gaming OC Edition RX 6700XT, and Asus GTX 1080 (selling Rig #3 so it's not in my signature).

Thanks again. But I did already make the list on 04/06/2021 for my Nitro+ :)

A few quids worth there.

A few quids worth there.

Thanks, yeah :D

I'm likely selling off some other stuff to help pay for all of this, but I'll be keeping the 6700XT as a spare. I have Rig #1 detailed in my signature for the family room, to game on my 55" 4K HDTV instead of using my Xbox One X, and rig #2 will likely sit on a desk with my VG27AQ 1440p 165Hz monitor.

I rounded up all of my old parts to sell, and found that I was able to combine them with just a few new parts in order to make a fully functional 3rd Gaming PC. It's comprised of my old i7-11700K and old MSI Godlike Z490, with my old Enermax Liqtech II AIO (or Noctua NH-U12S), plus my old 16 Gb (8x2) G.Skill RGB RAM and RX 6700XT, but with a new Samsung 980 1TB and HGST 1TB 7200 RPM, and new Seasonic Prime 850 80+ Gold PSU in my old Corsair Carbide 678c case. If I do sell it I plan to swap in my old GTX 1080 and keep the 6700XT. That PC could cover the cost of the 6900XT or 3080Ti, if I sell it vs giving it away to my brother or daughter.

Just wondering if you think these settings are ok or anything i should change, max freq is just the default it showed in adrenaline. Also not touched VRAM tuning.

Min. 2424
Max. 2524
Voltage. 1100mv
Looks fine.

I'm not sure if folks understand how the voltage slider works for RX 6000 series, but let me explain.

The voltage slider is not an exact voltage that will be used as in locked at a specific voltage. It's an offset of the entire frequency curve. This ensures that whatever you set in Radeon Software will actually be the maximum used voltage at the maximum clock frequency.

As an example. the stock voltage on a 6900XT (XTX) is 1.175V. If you put 1.100 as max voltage, every single point of the voltage/frequency curve will be lowered by 0.075V.

Your maximum clock frequency in Radeon Software is 2525hz at 1.100V with your offset using your example above.

If the GPU utilisation or load is lower, then the clock frequency and voltage will be lower. Eg the clock frequency with a GPU utilisation of 75% might be 2425Mhz, and for this clock frequency the voltage may be -0.075+0.075v = -0.150v.

Hope that makes sense.

Ahhh ok, thanks for the explanation. Yeah just as you said 50%ish utilization i see 2400mhz at 0.950v

Dear Members, was hoping you can help or advise

-I recently purchased and installed a Sapphire 6900xt Toxic limited edition AIO card - great performance but way too loud - Latest AMD drivers set to automatic and default, tried profiles, rage and quiet no difference.
-I can start any game fresh and they start ramping up very quickly to 100%.
-The clocks are amazing as it hits 2500+ sometimes and is stable but man just too noisy (made sure case fans are not the problem).

My experience with any of the recent cards is that the fans are pretty quiet now a days until of course I got this AIO one?

I am very technical so please advise in depth if necessary - much appreciate your help...

Thanks Jedi @LtMatt hope you can help or share experience with the below, and thanks for your time Sir >

Is the radiator situated at the top of your case exhausting outwards? Do you have an AiO for cpu or air cooling? Also what temp is your gpu during gaming? I know LtMatt runs a custom fan curve to set the fans at 38%.

Hi Jedi, all great questions, yes at the top (under the radiator the fans are of the Toxic) pulling upwards

- Lian Li Mini new model case with EK AIO Elite x4 push/pull 140 side fans (outwards) on radiator
- x3 120 EK fans bottom (intake) upwards and
- x1 120 on the rear outward.

There is something I am suspicious of but not too sure at the moment...

max I seen is junction 82 but the core temp is 60/70's - even when below 60 still noisy...

That's what surprised me as temps are fairly low and it still keeps off...
