The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

I have no idea honestly, I've mainly been playing Final Fantasy with it :D
At 60Hz...

What sort of screen are you using to notice a difference at that level? Or is it smoother due to increased minimums?
120HZ OLED, but as COD is competitive getting higher FPS gives you an advantage. You can tell just by watching how fluid it looks, did you notice that? Even though the video is 60HZ. It actually makes me want a 360HZ display tbh.

I understand the competitive element requiring high fps, but didn't think the 5950x was struggling in this regard at all. Honestly, I watched a few sections rather than the whole thing and then just asked the question.

From memory, it doesn't appear particularly smoother to me, but that might change with a back to back. Don't think you can go wrong with either processor, they both smash through this.

It's not that it's struggling per se, it's just it was not fast enough to keep my 6900 XT overclocked fully utilised in this scenario.

EDIT - Scrap that sharing someone else's video, just realised I took my own video running at 1080P with the 5950X and the 6900 XT.

The GPU utilisation is at 60% for most of the video as the 5950X cannot keep it fed fast enough. I will upload a video of this level running on the 5800X3D which will better show the difference.

Just did this and... Yep, the difference is pretty noticeable. The 5800x3d is like butter!
Edited my post a little Bill. Rather than link to someone elses video just realised I uploaded one with the 5950X and a 6900 XT.

Have a look at the above post, you will see the GPU utilisation is in the 60-70% range for most of the video. GPU utilisation is the % metric in the top row at the end in both videos.

Im still on a 60hz display, 4k though. Was looking at that 43" gigabyte screen for £680 or thereabouts....After setting my pc up and booting for the first time in 5 months last night. No real games on the horizon that interest me so probably not worth whle getting a new screen.

Remember he's at 60Hz, might not be fully stressing the clocks.

As I said previously I only play at 60FPS in FF, In anything else I cap the FPS to the monitors 160Hz refresh rate.

Are people still using 60 HZ monitors?

I haven't owned a 60Hz monitor in years.

LtMatt:
Is it stable under heavy load at 2750/2850 on the core clock in AMD Software @Dicehunter?

I've settled for 2800 on the core, Seems stable so far in all the benchmarks I've put it through.
