Do you think AMD have much performance left untapped for RX 7900 series in future driver updates aka Fine WineThe 23.7.1 release notes have a fixed issue listed for VR:
Fixed Issues
Certain virtual reality games or applications may encounter suboptimal performance or occasional stuttering on Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs.

I've put nearly 100 hours into AC Valhalla it looks lovely. The big but is that it needs a few things doing to stop it crashing a lot. The threads are full of crash rage rants but once you do a couple of things its fine. Its bad on Nvidia and intel aswell cheers UBI soft. This what I do to stop the crashing from bitter expierience.I signed up for a Game pass 1 month trial and decided to give AC:Odyssey another go with my new GPU.
The benchmark results are looking really good:
My last GPU (RTX 3070) struggled with this title on pretty much any settings I tried.
Settings - 4K + Ultra preset, full screen mode, Windows 11 OS. The bottleneck seems to be on the CPU side (judging by the max CPU latency of 15ms), interestingly. I guess this is an example of where DX12 might improve performance further?
One thing I noticed is that the g'veame doesn't like FPS caps much. Here, I had my cap set at 200 in Rivatuner. You can set a cap of 70, and the FPS dips aren't too bad, at least it didn't affect the 1% lows.
Maybe I'll give Valhalla a go if it goes onto Gamepass.
Has anyone else tried this game with a RX 7900 XT or XTX, and if so, does the game run well?
Its true the drivers do get better and better with age. I'm sure theres still untaped performance.Do you think AMD have much performance left untapped for RX 7900 series in future driver updates aka Fine Wine
Its true the drivers do get better and better with age. I'm sure theres still untaped performance.
But it is better (7900xt) for RT which is at 3090 level.A significant amount of just a couple of percent? The performance gap between 6000 and 7000 top end cards isn't that big at the moment.
