The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Noticed my memory wasn't running at full speed. Tweaked that and got:

Looking to upgrade to the 5800x 3d at some point though.

Just got the Nitro+ XTX in the other day, been having a read here and it seems like a beast of a card, especially when I paid £640 for it.

Just about fits in my Lian Li Dan A3 with 180mm PSU.

Stunning build, very tidy aswell. I have a similar case Asus ap201 and it's a mess.

Hadn't done a Timespy run since I got my 7900XT Pulse with my 5900X so:

Day to day settings (CPU on power saving and reduced TDP, GPU on -10% power)
20838 (25499GPU, 10237CPU)

More defaultish settings (CPU on reduced TDP, GPU on +15% power)
22566 (27700GPU, 11007CPU)

Thanks, I tried with cable management but sort of gave up and just wanted it built lol.

Since posting this photo i switched my PSU around so the fan is on the inside of the case instead of facing the solid front panel, got rid of the two slim fans in the bottom and added a single fan as a side intake instead.

Hey guys was hoping I could get maybe a little bit of advice as to what to do. I've had my reference Sapphire 7900 XTX Since launch and I was one of the lucky ones who didn't seem to have any issues with regards to the hot spot diffeence (always within 20oc of eachother)... At least until today when I was just working my way through the main quest in Wuthering Waves, when all of a sudden I hear my gpu fans starting to spin up, so I pull up the metrics tab, and sure enough they are at 2800 RPM and although my core temperature was sitting at a comfy 70oC (95% util), My hotspot was for the first time well above the normal difference and was sitting at between 100-102oC.

I haven't tested any other games yet so I'll put it through some final fantasy 16 later and see if I get similar results but if I do should I be worried and what are my options?

Issues at launch with the hotspot temps were mainly just the reference cards if I'm not mistaken.
If nothings changed in your system then I'd be checking settings in Wattman, checking for and cleaning any dust build-up on the cards heatsink and case fans. If that's all good then you have to option of repasting your card at the risk of voiding warranty or RMA really.

It seems to have been a one off in a certain area, it's been behaving since. xD

EDIT: Looks like I spoke to soon, hotspot hit 108oC today as I was testing just standing around in ff16.

It's not a solution, but do you cap framerate? If FF has runaway framerates you might be able to kerb the spikes while you work out what to do by locking it to 60 and see what happens.

OK so I found out that for some reason the adrenaline software kept setting my power limit to +15% which I haven't been a fan of because I didn't think the extra 4~12 fps in some games warranted the amount of extra power draw and the heat. So after uninstalling with DDU, And then reinstalling fresh and reapplying my profiles which don't have the plus 15% power limit, At least in Final Fantasy 16 where I was pushing 108oC in the hot spot, It's now back within the expected temperature delta of the core temp.

Quite the strange one, I've never seen that bug before. With that said though should I do anything about the card regardless considering that it seems to only happen with the +15% power limit?

I'd leave it +15 s a lot of extra power for not many frames and loads of heat.

Weird! I'm sure at some point I saw Furmark would invisibly override settings and hit max power when I had set a -ve%, but if you could see the power limit had been set to +15 that's strange. Not set a per game profile and forgotten about it?
