Damn all these happy nitro+ users, makes me wish I'd waited and ordered one of those xD
Makes me glad I held onto my pre order for a Nitro+ XT version. All great reviews for perf, thermals and acoustics.

I have seen some very weird things happen with a cheap display port cable. Including monitor black screens and my monitor refusing to turn on.I’ve seen a report on the AMD Reddit channel saying that the hotspot temperature may be related to quality of the displayport cable used. A user on there is reporting a repeatable change in temperature depending on which cable used.
Do you have a different cable to test. As @delta0 has found there seems to be a problem with bundled display port cables. Might be worth trying either a different display port cable or a HDMI.I already have a ticket outstanding for a return since Thursday -- no response yet.
And it's not just coil whine (which I might be able to live with). It never hits boost speeds at stock (stays between 2.3-2.4ghz) and hits 110c junction quickly.
The only way I can get it to even come close to 2.5ghz is by undervolting to 1100 and increasing power limit +5%, but even then it hits junction temp limit after a bit, and then it crashes in games.
I'm still waiting for my Nitro XTX - currently running a Sapphire XT which I have had zero issues with and think its an impressive card. The intention is to sell at a bargain price but I almost feel like keeping for another system!
I don't understand all the hate reviews of the XT, we all know how overpriced GFX cards are so what's the big issue with the RX7900XT hate!
Price difference is not the same everywhere. Here you can get a XT merc for 1100usd. You'll need 350 more for the cheapest XTX or 500 for a 4080. So the XT is a good deal in (my) real world. The XT is 17% slower than the xtx but only 10% less money. The performance is exactly as expected but the price/performance figure is not good if MSRP is taken into account. Of course MSRP is often a mythical price that never exists and the market adjusts so cards mostly seel at the price they are worth.
There are very few well priced products in the gpu market so the 7900xt just joins a whole bunch of overpriced gpus.

I mean if you compare the Powercolor Hellhound cards (which I believe are the cheapest 3rd party cards on OcUK) the XTX is £1129.99 and the XT is £929.99. That's a £200 difference. That's 17.7% of the XTX's price and 21.5% of the XT's price. The XT is 17% slower than the xtx but only 10% less money. Not sure what the power limit is, but I've just found out that the XFX Merc has the same power limit as the Nitro. The Red Devil looks good, but until TPU review it hard to say how it compares to the others.@LtMatt - Have you had hands on with the 7900XT Red Devil... That's a chunky cooler! XTX version might be interesting, higher power limit?

No, but I've heard good things about it. Not sure it will beat the Nitro, but stakes a claim for one of the next best I think.Keeping my eye out, you have the XFX Merc? Don't think it's gonna be as good as the Nitro+.

I'd love to get hands on with one, but don't fancy buying anymore. My new years resolution is to cut down on unnecessary hardware purchases. That's a bold claim is that... did come across some feedback about fan profile issues, I think one forum user here had that issue and swapped out for the Nitro+.

I've only got a 7900 XTX and a 4090 at the moment. Not counting the iGPU of the 7950X of course. I had a 6800 XT and a RX 580 die recently. So currently running short on graphics cards. It's a hard life.Have you built a pyramid yet? You could possibly beat OcUK attempt with the amount of GPU's you must have?

Not sure that will happen, MPT is a thing of the past with Navi31.I think we will find, once we can read the BIOS files, that all four of these Tier 2 cards (Merc, TUF, Nitro+ and Red Devil) have the same board power-limits - 420Watts.
7900 XTX Nitro @3400Mhz/2750Mhz + Fast Timings @1.090mv +15% power limitWas just running Modern Warfare 2 at 1440P and managed to hit 3.6Ghz front end clock at times.
