The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Finally got my 9070 XT Nitro+ installed and ran a few benchmarks. 3DMark Timespy Extreme gets 14498 GPU score which looks par value, running around 34c idle, 62c load. Played a bit at 4k ultra settings in WHSMII and CP77, super smooth. I have not tried undervolting/overclocking.

The hidden cable is nice, probably the best (and only) innovation in cable management on graphics cards I've seen. Ntiro+ is really a very slick card design altogether -- glad I mistaked into one (Red Devil or Taichi were my first choices).

Do yourselves a favour and install Guardians of the Galaxy, max everything including raytracing to ultra and be gobsmacked at how beautiful a game it is and how smooth it plays (stays over 60fps for me so far).

Just make sure and plug your controller in if it's an xbox one, as it stutters terribly otherwise.

Each game has to be individually setup to work with Optiscaler and not all games are guaranteed to work.
Check out the Optiscaler wiki for FSR4 compatibility . https://github.com/cdozdil/OptiScaler/wiki
You have to copy the Optiscaler files into the location where the game exe is and run Optiscaler Setup.bat.

Many games need dlss to be enabled in the game so you may need fakenvapi as well. https://github.com/FakeMichau/fakenvapi

The compatibility list does not show every game that works since it depends on user submissions. Try asking for help on the Optiscaler Discord if you have trouble with any specific game that's not on the list.
Thanks for the reply but not what I'm asking, poor wording in my part.

Should have worded it better, for example, launch CP, run optiscaler gui, enable FSR4, close CP, then when you launch CP again, FSR4 is still enabled=set and forget?

Or do you have to run optiscaler to enable FSR4 each time you launch CP?

Sapphire pulse 9070xt just installed in a new rig- Fractal North, Asrock x879e Nova, 9800x3d. Dont think much of the support bracket Sapphire!

Looking forward to benching

These really have been, on all sides, one of the most miserable launches in recent memory.

Nothing is even close to MSRP, low stock everywhere.

Intel B580 - should be $250 US > somehow we're paying close to £300
Nvidia 5070ti - $750 US > well over £800 here
AMD 9070XT - $600 US > £700+

Great if you've managed to snag one at close to msrp

If Intel was £250, and didn't have CPU overhead it would be ok.

Performance isn't really that great though, sure a upgrade over my 480 but not like oh wow it's almost as good as 4070 for half the price.

Well, just got an e-mail telling me my pre-ordered Sapphire 9070 XT Pure is apparently arriving tomorrow.
You'd think I'd be excited but I wasn't expecting it for another month, which would give me time to see if prices started getting back to MSRP, get a new CPU (9800X3D or 9950X3D) and to make sure I was happy with the Pure since I've been hearing less than great things about the Pulse (which I think is basically the same card other than the colour).
Ah well, too late now I guess.

Hi everyone. Huge amount of information, thank you for sharing all that.
Has anyone tested any of those high scores settings on actual gaming? How big of a difference can you get with a tuned gpu?
I only tested before and after tuning in Warhammer 3 Total War but it made a reasonably big difference, roughly 10% more FPS with +10% power limit (on my Pulse, so about 334W) at -125 mV offset and 2750 MHz memory (which seemed stable in games, it can run more aggressive settings in benchmarks). This seems to be in line with what I've seen other posts say elsewhere for other games. I bumped down to -10% power limit (for fan noise and efficiency), -115 undervolt and 2720 memory and to be more confident it's completely stable though and still get about +5% over stock performance, which is nice when using less power. I've seen some people report that memory speed makes little difference in some games but it definitely does in Warhammer. Going over 2750MHz seems to reduce performance and give horrible frame time spikes because of error correction even if it doesn't actually crash, I guess where that limit is will vary per card though. Fast memory timing doesn't seem worth the stability cost to me.

I've also made a max power preset for games that might be borderline without that extra 5% and a -30% power limit one for things that don't need much juice.

Cant get optiscaler working in CP2077, chucked all the files in the folder and does nothing when I press insert in game.
I did it just now,did you copy the amdxcffx64.dll file into the game folder? also did you setup the optiscaler bat file?

Once you set it that's it

I have had to dial back to undervolt as after testing on time spy I loaded the steel nomad benchmark and it would crash instantly, had to tune it from -130mV to -90mV, with the rest of my config the same, +350MHz clock, 2750MHz VRAM and +10 Power, not changed and fan settings, loaded Cyberpunk and a couple of other games and not had a crash.
I'm using Steel Nomad to document the gains from each setting. Steel Nomad is good one for making the machine crash.
I'll post my findings later.

Cyberpunk uses XeSS inputs to get FSR4 working.
I just booted up CP2077 and it remembered that FSR4 was enabled. It works like this : Enable XeSS in the game settings and open Optiscaler menu, set upscaler to fsr3.x (FSR4.0.0). Now when I change upscaler in the game settings to fsr2 or fsr3 it uses those upscalers but when I switch to Xess it uses FSR4.

Generally you shouldn't need to change the upscaler in the game settings once you have Optiscaler working. You can change the upscaler from within the Optiscaler menu to test out the different upscalers for comparison reasons.

Nice to see so many happy owners in here. I have only really had a chance to put a good few hours into stalker 2 and rust so far (hardly a graphical powerhouse but my lad desperately wants me to play with him on weekends).

Will try and get some time to look at Indiana Jones and some other stuff next weekend. Really happy with the card though and it's super quiet so that's a relief.

I used FSR3 in the game settings and I'm getting FSR4,the problem is it says I have a 4090 in the benchmarks

nitro + 9070xt, been quite the upgrade week for me as have also gone from a 7900GRE, 5900X with 32GB to a 9800X3D with 64GB.

Bit of a beast now and very happy to sit back and enjoy, next time I upgrade it will be for a 12 core single CCD X3D and no doubt UDMA GPU. Really pleased with the card though as had been toying with a 50 series card but ideally wanted to stay with AMD as have been with them since RDNA2 and that was only because I wasn't willing to drop £550 on a 3070ti with only 8GB Ram. Can't really see me jumping back to NVIDIA unless AMD screw things up again but with good RT and FSR4 it looks as though they really are back in the game.
