The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I bought Pulse - it uses 2x8pin cables - should I use two separate psu gpu cables or can I use single cable with 8pin split plugs?

Also, do you think 600W psu would be enough or not?
600 is right on the edge..I would upgrade psu tbh. You should put your parts in partpicker and figure out top end power draw your likely to be very close.

Der8auer on 9070xt OC and undervolting. Looks like Powercolor might have screwed up and not flashed an OC BIOS on the Red Devil version.
Not sure why he is using a tool to do his over clocking as you can do this in the driver. Just because you tell the system to use a higher clock speed does not mean it will use it. It’s been like this for ages.

It should be fine, but it depends on the gauge of the wire used in your 2x8-pin cable. The warning exists because some power supply cables don't even meet the minimum ATX specification of 18 AWG.

Once people confirm the cards,I will need:
1.)The Brand
2.)Whether it is an RX9070 or RX9070XT
3.)Model
4.)Date Received
Sapphire
9070
Pulse
08/03/25

Timespy, stock GPU with a 5700X

Max GPU temp 51
Max hotspot 69
Memory temp 82

Pretty happy, fan maxed at 42% and I can't hear it above the case fans.

Popped out on break for a nose, making sure no bricks

Oops for some reason did separate posts on fone:confused:

Thanks. Yeah, right now I have Silverstone SFX 600W, but decided o get stronger one and bought Antec SFX 850W.
Need to check what is the gauge on that GPU 8pin cable, but I guess if they make those split plugs, they must have plnned that users will use both.

No coil whine (but then i'm middle aged ;) ). But massive gulf between GPU edge temp and hotspot temp. On load the GPU will be in the 40s and the hotspot will be hitting late 80s/90s on the performance BIOS in 3DMark/Cyberpunk (on the Silent BIOS 80s) with the fan doing 2.0-2.3k rpm. I need to investigate.

Ideally you want 16AWG

mine is the same massive gulf I notice that this seems common

I can confirm, mine has the same symptoms and increasing core clock slider does nothing.

If other Red Devil owners can confirm their findings too, that would be awesome!

I’m also confirming this, but I have a gigabyte card.

These are my results:

Note the last test, I cranked the memory to 2900 and I lost a load of performance. Same as in that video.

Cranking up memory indiscriminately isn’t ideal. Before your system becomes unstable, errors will start occurring, requiring retransmissions that hurt performance. The best approach is to first lower your memory voltage as much as possible, then increase your core clock, and only then start adjusting memory. Keep tuning until you notice a drop in performance.

Common with the Taichi or XTs in general? It's quite strange as it almost instantously raises and lowers. It's within the thermal limit I guess, and I can play with the fan curve.

What layout for your M2 fits the red devil? I saw the card was 149mm in height and assumed only vertical would fit.
I use the inverted layout where the card is on the top. The card isn’t 149mm. I think that’s with the support frame included in the limited edition box. It’s a tight fit and there was some pressure on the cables from the power connector to the side panel. Using some 180 deg connectors solved that though.

The problem is there seems to be a bug in Adrenalin (and Gigabyte CC) that coreclock increase does not do anything, I can only undervolt (increases power budget) to increase boost speed. I don't see an option of memory voltage.

Also, on a side note, I have to reapply the GPU overclock settings every PC restart, am I missing something? Sorry not overclocked GPUs in a while.

I remember MSI Afterburner having an option to reapply OC on startup, but want minimal bloatware on my PC, (already have Gigabyte CC and AMD Adrenalin)

Literally just snagged one on Amazon! So excited! I have the grater too so looking forward to it.

I see, that’s a weird explanation for the support bracket. I do use an inverted layout. I have an inspire 5080 but honestly will just sell it with my old pc. Not worth paying like $1400 due to aib tax basically, would rather pay less and get about 85 - 90% of the performance with a 9070xt.

I love the aesthetics of the card, minimal coil noise.

I haven't done anything with it except install the latest drivers and run a couple tests.

A couple of good results on the RT tests but my time spy scores seem a bit on the low side. I guess I will need to have a play :)

Quick question, what options should I enable in adrenaline? Should I enable fsr 4 and anti-lag there?
How do your fans sound, can you clearly hear when they spin up? Still considering whether I should return mine and eat the £60 cost to get a different card when they are back in stock.
