Sounded a bit bitter imo.

TBF he's every right to be bitter when Walter Smith failed to sign him and he had to choose Celtic instead

He could have been looking forward to playing whatever 3rd Division fodder The Rangers have up next, instead he'll have to make do with playing Juve on a cold wet Tuesday night

Ah, the team that likes to call itself the establishment is let off almost scot-free by the establishment. A paltry fine which is nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

So, if you consider the EBT loans to have been above board, had all of those players who had received EBTs repaid their loans Rangers would not have been liquidated as they would have been able to easily pay their debts. As for 54 and counting, the New Rangers have no titles and the dead club, Rangers, have been allowed to keep their record of 54. The New Rangers have a way to go before they get there.

If you consider the EBTs to have been a leg up for Rangers and entirely illegal in the way they where employed, the titles won would have looked like this -

Not even a slap on the wrist. A fine for a liquidated club is meaningless.

Today is the day Scottish football lost what remaining credibility it had left.

So what happens to Neil Doncaster and Stuart Regan's positions now after they tried to use the titles in bargaining with the newco's league membership?

After Rangers "won" the big tax case I think we all knew that they'd only get a slap on the wrist, the fact that the oldco is in liquidation is just the SPL's tough luck.

The only thing is if HMRC win their appeal does this affect judgement since he's used the previous ruling that the EBT's were legal?

So because Rangers can pay wages as a loan everyone else needs to start being paid wages as a loan to avoid tax. Nice one everyone involved.

In a way Rangers' current situation came about due to a clerical error and HMRC crying about a (then) legal tax avoidance scheme. SPL board should have handled this and agreed with Charles Green's statement today it's time to move on.

Hopefully league reconstruction will change how the game here is run but somehow I doubt that.

LOL!

But for the record and loan repaid are not repaid to Rangers they are repaid to the Trust of the EBT scheme to be loaned out again. Thats how it works.
54 won on the Pitch.

Lets quote the Judgement here.

(6) Rangers FC did not gain any unfair competitive advantage from the contraventions of
the SPL Rules in failing to make proper disclosure of the side letter arrangements
, nor did the non-disclosure have the effect that any of the registered players were ineligible
to play, and for this and other reasons no sporting sanction or penalty should be imposed upon Rangers FC

So there it is the player were eligible to play titles won fair and square. Away and greet into yer pints :D
54 and counting.

They were corrupt and as Eddies nice wee chart shows only one club really stood to gain out of title stripping so I ask you this who REALLY was behind that campaign.

54 and counting.

As someone said on another messageboard:

"Welcome to Scotland

The most CORRUPT little country

In the world.

Last one to leave, turn the lights oot."

I love Aberdeen FC, but I can no longer support them when they compete in this system. I'm done with Scottish football. What a sad, sad day.

I feel your pain.

I don't care mind.

Guilty of a clerical error. Just like Livingston were and what happened to then oh yeah they got a fine.

54 and counting.

I dont fully understand all of this, mainly as I don't give a **** about scottish football so haven't bothered to follow the case, but if the Rangers that won the 54 titles have ceased to be how can they win more? therefore the "and counting" element of your little motto/mantra is irrelevant isn't it?

Haha, that's the laugh of it all.

Livingston were found guilty of signing a player on an amateur basis, who was available to be signed as a full-time professional. And as such were adjudged to have gained to competitive advantage.

Rangers are guilty of systemic and systematic cheating, over a huge timescale and vast number of games. Giving them enormous financial, and thus competitive, advantage over the rest of Scottish Football. We are awaiting the decision of an appeal to discern to exactly what extent they have defrauded the taxpayers of the country they claim to love so much.

Being cast into the fires of hell isn't punishment enough for this collection of thugs and neanderthals.

The company that ran the club ceased to exist a new company runs the club now. Its really not that hard to understand.

HMRC and even Lord Nimmo Smith have made the clear distinction between CLUB and COMPANY. Its only the haters that don't want to see it.

It all came down to the asset purchase from the administrators. All parties agreed that the asset transfer included titles etc, basically all the "good" parts of the club. Sevco (the company) became the Rangers company when this happened.
