My manager is a Celtic fan.

What an utterly delusional reply. It is quite clear now that your bhurd is a timothy supporter and the rest of your family are bears. There is no difference to the "blinkered" Rangers fans you so ready ridicule, than to your posts

I point you to an article from the BBC, that you and others believe are without fault, from your own manager declaring it will be a disaster for St.Mirren if RFC are kicked out of the SPL, that if they were kicked out they would not be able to honour existing player contracts, players that probably kept you in the SPL. A club that you say has no need for the old firm, yet here is you very own manger declaring a need for the financial clout of RFC and the revenue that they bring and you reply, he is a celtic fan. Unbelievable .

Danny Lennon' loyalty like every other player/manager is to the club who pay them

Lol, your not one of Murray's harshest critics at all If you dont accept that he is as much or more to blame than Whyte. Who was a patsy.

In your opinion.

Craig Whyte promised to have enough funding to take the club forward and this was vouched for by the solicitors Collyer & Bristow (who the administrators are taking to court seeking £25million in damages). In buying the club, he was saddling it with an additional £30million worth of debt (to Ticketus) and at the same time removing the clubs main revenue stream for 4 years. He then failed to pay any money to HMRC over a nine month period, while deducting this money from his employees and using it to run the club. That is the reason Rangers are in administration. Forget the BTC. That is irrelevant until the tribunal reach their findings.

How in the hell can the blame for that lie with David Murray, other than for selling the club to him in the 1st place?

Edited just to add that Murray had little choice to sell in any case. Lloyds had him by the balls due to the debt his group had run up in the BoS days, pre-Lloyds takeover. Buyers for the club were hardly queing up and when Whyte showed he had funds available Lloyds didn't care about what happened afterwards as long as they got their money. If fingers are to be pointed somewhere, I am very surprised that the name Donald Muir was not mentioned in the BBC documentary.

My manager is a Celtic fan, Butcher is a Rangers fan, of course they want to see dont want to see clubs they support damaged, the biggest team who will lose out if Rangers were to be liquidated would be Celtic, they have the most to lose.

LOL. You actually believe that? I am not going to be a hypocrit here - I detest Celtic and everything they stand for.

But if there is 1 club in the SPL who are capable of surviving and prospering without Rangers it is them.

Celtic don't rely on Rangers coming to their ground and buying tickets to survive. Nor do they rely on the £2million per year from Sky. They would perhaps not be able to retain as large a squad (who needs about a million players anyway), but they still generate enough revenue off their own backs to survive and do well. The same cannot be said for any of the rest of the SPL.

Just to add, Butcher is no fan of Rangers, I can assure you. He may have played for the club (with distinction) a number of years ago, but if you read his book you will understand that he does not have any genuine affection for the club.

He is reaching. I doubt he is even a St.Mirren fan, either a RFC hater or just here for the post count.

I don't doubt for a second that he is a St. Mirren fan. But he is also a Rangers hater, and is suffering a very severe case of the football equivalent of "wee man" syndrome by the looks of things.

It wouldnt be a disaster at all, it would be the best thing to ever happen to Scottish football if Rangers are liquidated, once Rangers are gone, sectarianism will be massively reduced.

The manager was misquoted in the article.

Celtic will survive of course, but they stand the most to lose if Rangers go out of business, surely this is common sense?

The old "what team do you really support", I really support St Mirren, I hate Rangers, I hate Celtic, its not hard to understand is it? Both clubs have been built on a bed of sectarianism and bigotry and that is why they both thrived despite having closer clubs to them which would be a more natural rivalry.

On the contrary, I know Im a better supporter than any old firm supporter because Im not a glory hunter. ;)

Until this happened with Rangers, really, Rangers fans had no idea of the ups and downs of football, its given them a good dose of heartache that fans of other clubs have as part of the supporting experience.

To be honest I cant really think of anything more boring than supporting Celtic or Rangers, the apathy they have for regular league games other than the old firm ones and games in europe, it would be like when we play a second division team in the cup, but every week.

I've suffered the same in the old SPL thread to the point I now joke about changing what Old Firm team I support each week, whether it was laughing at Celtic's cup exits or discussing Rangers' administration. :p

Also: Daily Record

Clark said: “There has been an ongoing dialogue with HMRC and we wouldn’t have got to such an advanced stage if we didn’t feel there was more than a strong possibility of a CVA being approved.

“But there is no deal and that can’t happen until there is a meeting of the creditors.”

What a shock. ;)

"Rangers' joint administrator Paul Clark admits he did not know the company was breaching Fifa rules by taking the Scottish Football Association to court over punishments issued to the Ibrox club. (The Scottish Sun on Sunday)"

How is that common sense? They would the have virtually no competition for the league championship every year, and with it access to the riches of the champions league every year! If anything Celtic would have most to gain.

Some pathetic replies as well. Sectarianism is a football problem and more specifically a Rangers problem eh! It isn't a centuries old social problem which has become intwined with football through the years at all. How would Rangers going out of business seriously reduce sectarianism? Do you think if Rangers ceased to exist, bigots on both sides would just disappear?

Mark, i'm being honest man. I think you have a slight obsession with this subject. Rangers are apparently an irrelevance to your club and yet you are probably the main contributor to this entire topic. I think it is a sign that your hatred and jealousy of Rangers is as strong as your love for Celt... I mean St. Mirren!

Ok gents, can we drop the bickering about which clubs people support as well as matters tangenital to the basic issue. It's a discussion about Rangers and their current status in administration rather than about anything and everything to do with them.

Appreciate what you are saying. Does that mean any mention of EBT's and the "big tax case" are also off limits since neither are or were a fundamental issue regsrding Rangers going into administration?

This thread is for the discussion of the economics of Rangers including the impact of the big tax case plus the impact on the SPL and the wider game in Scotland. It's not for people to take a pop at other people and who they support and it's not for discussion of sectarian issues in football.

I am not jealous of Rangers at all, what is there to be jealous about? There would be nothing to stop me switching teams if I was jealous, its not like Ive signed a contract with St Mirren.

Celtic have the most to lose because without their bitter rivals, the fans would reduce massively, you see it already when teams like St Mirren and Inverness play at Celtic, despite having season tickets, thousands of them dont bother turning up.

And yes, I do have a slight obsession about it, I have an obsession about seeing cheats punishing properly and love seeing the team and the fans going through the ringer, I only wish Celtic had used EBT's as well and we could have got rid of both clubs at the same time, but Id be happy with one going now and death by a thousand cuts on the other one.

Cheats eh? That is a hell of an allegation. I hope you are man enough to come on this thread and apologise if/ when Rangers are cleared of any wrongdoing!

Cheating eh! Celtic won the SPL in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 & 2008. And Hearts finished above Rangers in 2nd place in 2006. What a sporting advantage must have been gained by using EBT's.

Is it for people to make unfounded claims regarding the result of the FTT and escalation to a second tier?
