RTX3080 10GB/RTX3080TI 12GB owners are now dropping like flies due to the sweet allure of the 24GB RTX4090!
I guarantee you you I won't get one. Only way that happens is I get a used one at a good price in 18 months or so time.
Now the one that may break us @Nexus18
Richard's off-hand comment about AMD's RT strategy (or rather, lack of) was interesting - I guess it explains why they're so far behind at the moment - hopefully they'll bring their 'A' game to the 8000 series and the next generation of consoles.
Kay just installed my 4090 and tested cp2077 with pathtracing and fg. Like. Holy ****. As much as i tried with my 3080 with balanced mode and whatnot, it was either too low res or too ****** performance. Now i’m getting 90-120 fps at 3440x1440 dlss quality and fg. And it looks amazing and is also supersmooth.
Kinda hurt my wallet but… worth it overall. Also got rid of the coil whine from that ****** oem psu that the acer po5-640 came with.
FG is situationally great. When you are already getting 60+ without it, it's pretty good..It's also great when you are cpu bound, like for example in hogwarts. But it won't save you when your GPU can only push 30 to 50 fps,, the latency increase in pretty big thereMan whoever disses fg hasnt actually used it.
Dropped DLSS SR for now for 2 reasons, cp melts my cpu for whatever reason and cba to get better cooling (12700), so with dlss and fg i get like 90-120 fps at 3440x1440 and it keeps cpu load too high and temps at 90-95 degrees. With fg only, dlss off i get 80-85 instead. Second, its currently bugged and in voice calls and some other similar things it keeps ‘fuzzing out’ the image randomly(known bug tho).
So i’m keeping pathtracing native at 3440x1440 with FG on ( 60-85 fps). Image is pristine and the ‘input lag’ that some people are complaining about is hilarious. Tells me everything i need to know about the fg complainers. It looks and feels just like REAL fps, not fake. But yeah, tech is amazing and sour grapes and all.
Is there anyway to fix this other than turning it off and just using Psycho RT @Poneros?

Afaik no, also the RT lighting has this issue too but to a much lesser extent - which is why I recommend first using just RT reflections (+both shadows options since they're nearly free once you have RT on) for actual gameplay and not just screenshots/video. I think the bloom might be tweakable if you hunt down all the parameters (https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/193) but there's no guarantee. Besides that I would also say that it's pointless to care about RT lighting/overdrive if you're not playing in HDR because during the day the quality of the picture is much lower as a result of the compressed dynamic range, so it looks like peering through frosted glass when it's very sunny out (and then you also get the exaggerated bloom from how they do the eye adaptation), and then at night the visual difference from the lighting (vs raster) is actually quite minimal for the most part as a result of the dark obscuring details (which then further gets compounded by SDR & the fact that the more you push the lighting to RT/PT then you get an even darker image thanks to higher shadowing etc.)Is there anyway to fix this other than turning it off and just using Psycho RT @Poneros?

If you do want to play with overdrive and minimise the blooming then if you have a 4090 you could just about manage it by upping the ray steps & bounces (see the scene at 2:13), f.ex.:
Now that I think about it, if you meant during first person driving in particular, then there's no hope there regardless. The bloom is completely borked there in all modes (to varying degrees).
