Latest Marvel’s Avengers PC Patch enables DRS with DLSS, improves stability
January 29, 2021 John Papadopoulos 5 Comments
Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes have released a new patch for the PC version of Marvel’s Avengers. According to the release notes, the January 29th Update improves stability and performance, and resolves some reports of the DEVICE_HUNG crash.

In addition, this latest update enables Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) with DLSS. When NVIDIA gamers enable DRS along with DLSS, DLSS will dynamically adjust render resolution to deliver maximum image quality while maintaining the target frame rate.

As always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Marvel’s Avengers PC Patch 1.4.1.26 Release Notes
  • Improvements to stability and performance, this patch solves some reports of the DEVICE_HUNG crash.
  • NVIDIA DLSS in Marvel’s Avengers now supports Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS). When DRS is enabled along with DLSS, DLSS dynamically adjusts render resolution to deliver maximum image quality while maintaining the target frame rate.
  • When determining settings on the initial run of the game, or when resetting settings to default, the game will now set defaults better tailored to your machine. The selected output resolution will take into account your GPU power, Dynamic Resolution Scaling will be set to 60fps on sufficiently capable hardware, and DLSS will be enabled by default on all hardware that supports it.
  • The game now warns players on NVIDIA hardware with drivers older than 461.09 to upgrade. These drivers contain fixes that are important to solid performance and stability of Marvel’s Avengers.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition gets NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 support and Advanced Ray Traced Reflections

INTRODUCING THE METRO EXODUS PC ENHANCED EDITION

For PC players, we’re taking advantage of our new Fully Ray Traced Lighting Pipeline and the latest GPU-capable hardware from NVIDIA and AMD to offer the ultimate Ray Traced experience – the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition.

This upgrade is so extensive, it will require a Ray Tracing capable GPU as the minimum spec, and we will need to deliver this version as a separate product – it is not a simple ‘patch’ to the base game – instead it will be offered as an extra entitlement to all existing Metro Exodus PC players.

The PC Enhanced Edition will offer additional Ray Tracing features, including Advanced Ray Traced Reflections and support for DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA hardware, which offers sharper image details and increased framerates and display resolutions.

Applying the same philosophy as our Xbox and PlayStation upgrades, this PC Enhanced Edition will be FREE to all existing Metro Exodus owners on the Epic Games Store, Steam, and GoG. You can expect the PC Enhanced Edition to release later this spring.

So another case where using DLSS is better because it eliminates the ****** AA processing techniques..... "better than native" :p

Goes to show, this is another case where it is great for perf. i.e. takes you from unplayable 40s fps to playable 70+ fps

Shame this version of the game is **** though!

Just had a quick go of it there and it takes me from 49fps ish to a solid 70fps with quality DLSS and everything fully maxed. Really good implementation of DLSS 2.0 here as well. Looks better than the game would with AA as well so happy days.

As Nexus just said though, shame about the actual game :D

Don't forget making the Bright Memory: Infinite thread @Kaapstad (last one, I promise) :D

These results need a place to go ;)

Cheers my Dude, I bought this last year and completely forgot to even play it! Oh the life of a PC gamer and Steam library owner :D

Going to install it now and see what the 3090 can do with it!
