The Riftbreaker has gotten a demo out, and it's raytraced enabled. Not only that but it's BY FAR the best showcase for RT Shadows when combined with its day/night cycle. The transition from day to night is jaw dropping when it happens. Performance is quite good as well! 75% of 4K All max holds 60 fps on an RX 6800.

(unfortunately I didn't make a transition gif yet; here's from AMD)

The shadows look cool in RT because it looks like they disabled shadows when RT is off - it's easy to make RT look good when you don't build an equivalent raster function

Steam Database hints at Source 2 Engine receiving RTX support

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/stea...e-2-engine-receiving-rtx-support/#more-150065

Steam’s database hints at Source 2 Engine receiving support for real-time ray tracing. From the looks of it, the first game that will receive support for RTX will be Artifact.

Do note that this does not mean, at least for now, that Half-Life: Alyx will also receive support for Ray Tracing or DLSS. Valve has not announced such plans yet. However, and once Artifact supports these tech features, the Source 2 Engine will be compatible with them.

It will be interesting to see when NVIDIA and Valve will officially reveal these RTX effects for Artifact. It will also be interesting to see whether Half-Life: Alyx – or any newer Source 2 Engine game – will add support for them.

It’s also interesting to note that NVIDIA plans to remaster classic PC games with its RTX technology. Quake 2 RTX was the first one. Therefore, and if this RTX support is anything to go by, we could be looking at Half-Life RTX using the Source 2 Engine. Again, we are merely speculating here, but such a scenario could be possible.

Stay tuned for more!

Shadows look good period. Don't waste your time comparing to RT off.

looks the same as metro exodus, you just notice more because it's bright dynamic light source moving through what work otherwise be pitch black

it will look good played on an OLED screeen and terrible on an lcd

Yeah, that is very impressive. Especially the one where a meteor goes by.

With RT, it is just the start. We will get better and better implementations with time. We also are still lacking in hardware needed to really make something that is night and day better than what we have seen from traditional Rasta methods.

Tried both benchmarks.

GPU test - About 110 fps i think with everything maxed in 3440 x 1440 (3080)
CPU test - Something like 11fps :D (5800X) is that right?

edit - Maybe it is and it's just like the 3d mark 2001 / 2002 CPU render test where it ran at 1 / 2fps at best as they thought CPU power would catch up. It would it interesting running that now. Maybe it would run a bit better... 15 fps

There was no cpu test when I had it installed as I recall.

Makes sense. Same GPU :)

Be: Brave will support Ray Tracing Shadows, Reflections & Global Illumination
January 28, 2021 John Papadopoulos 5 Comments
OneDream Games is currently working on a action-RPG, called Be: Brave. And yesterday, NVIDIA released a video, revealing that the game will feature Ray Tracing effects.

According to the green team, Be: Brave will feature ray-traced shadows, reflections and global illumination. Furthermore, the game will also support DLSS.

Be:Brave features a unique take on team-based combat that is tightly connected to its narrative. The game also promises to put a strong emphasis on storytelling and exploration.

There is currently no ETA on when Be: Brave will release.

Enjoy!

Thought you had it and was talking about it in your last post :p

Yeah it is on steam.

Anyway, the Bright Memory benchmark for me run 3440 x 1440, Very High, Performance DLSS at 77fps stock settings, 81fps overclocked. 3080 FE
