The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

If your card is under water, why are you undervolting? you're killing your performance and limiting your max clocks.

As I said earlier in the thread I did run at 1700mhz with 1200mV and the card would boost to 1680mhz with hbm at 1100mhz but it would draw over 315w. With current settings it's only about 70 mhz slower when boosting but uses over 100w less power! When gaming it's like 1 fps difference which makes no difference when I'm getting 100fps!

I watercool for noise levels and looks rather than pushing my hardware within an inch of its life

Hello there, new to the forum but not the site.
Will post my vega 56 to join the club when i get home from work.
What i did want to ask for help with is liquid cooling for my vega and cpu, Is there a AIO that covers cpu and vega in one go, if not how on earth do i do it ?
I've had a fury x with water, and ive had a AIO for my cpu but never had to construct one from scratch (res pump e.t.c) Im totally fine with decontructing the card to apply the block, its the next parts im confused about,
What parts do i get... i dont have much money so i'd need cheap but good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!;)

500 quid for a 56 is simply too much cash. I own a 56 which at the price I paid was a decent buy but now... Jesus that's a lot of money.

Check out the water cooling sub forum. There are knowledgable people there on the subject of water cooling and can help you choose / double check you got right parts in your basket.

I don't believe there is aio that covers both cpu and gpu. You can get aio for cpu and do custom loop for gpu. If you can do 2 separate loops for gpu and cpu or 1 loop for gpu and cpu (I had that for i5 3750k and gtx 680) just need to make sure you got big enough radiator to handle the cooling.

It's not hard but it is expensive.

Thank you very much for your reply

No AIO for cpu + GPU that I've seen in my travels. Might be missing a trick as many want the all AMD combo it could be a thing
would flashing the card with Vega64 liquid bios be better than the air bios once im watercooled? It has higher power limits doesn't it?

Check the 64 thread, I believe right from the start we've got someone who did what you suggest. Stable 1700 I think they got.

I mean you have the 56 card but it'd work I guess as the air does

My testing suggests that flashing the Vega64 Bios to the Vega56 will not work with the new 17.9.2 drivers.

OTOH, the 17.9.2 drivers do support multiple GPU so that two Vega56 should give about 180% of the performance of one Vega56, at least under DX12 and Vulkan.

Does anyone have a pair of Vega56 to play with?

roll back to 17.9.1 and flash? 17.9.1 are a better driver anyway.

I tried the liquid bios. Card wasn't stable at stock liquid clocks and didn't really offer any improvement over the 64 air bios. Can run 1700mhz/1100mhz with the 64 air bios on its default voltages. Haven't tried higher as power usage starts to get very high for marginal performance gains.

Seems quite a lot of people are receiving bent EK blocks. Are they obviously bent? When I got mine I just took it out of the box and stuck it on my card. Didn't really check it over too much so hopefully mine isn't bent :p My temps are good and card isn't dead so I think I'm good....

Vulkan and Direct3D12 require the game devs to implement multi-GPU support, I'm not aware of many that actually have made that effort. Ashes of the Singularity is the only one I can readily think of.

all installed. Going hardcore at the moment, no leak test, i need some excitement and risk in my life. hah. finally gone over 1600mhz, 1.1volt. Will gradually increase until it doesn't work then try the Vega64 bios.

I thought the block was massively bent, but it turns out i didn't take into account the new cover (with Radeon on it) with the new blocks, oops. Bit embarrassing that. Its bent very slightly, but nothing like what i originally thought.

I dont get Crossfire, i really dont. While installing my block i put my RX480s back in again to have some fun (bought the 2nd to start mining but never got around to it). While at default clocks, they score higher than my Vega56 at max OC!!! But i cant get ANY of my games to work in crossfire, only benchmarks :(
