The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

Its not coils Tho. Its the fans. I removed the fans and spun them. They make some clicking Noise. One a lot worse than the other.

Do a video with your fingers temporarily on the fans stopping them from spinning.
Then see if it's coils or faulty fan, or a blade rubbing on it's power cables underneath.

But I'm 100% sure it's coil buzz, i know the sound well.

Ah hmm okay.
Do I have to undervolt it ? Because I read some reviews that it can get hot.

The idea with under volting is you reduce the maximum voltage which reduces heat. Even if you increase the maximum power setting with under volting it can cooler than it was before.

The only change I made to mine was to increase fan speed to 2000rpm , target temp to 65c and the memory up to 900. The max GPU temp it hits is about 65c and 70c for the RAM but only for brief periods. I am not really interesting in putting a lot more power through the GPU for a little extra performance.

you should lower the volts too, its not just about heat, it does reduce temps, but also power and noise etc, so its worth doing. most cards should be able to drop 100mv of each p state without much issue.

If anyone feels their Vega stock cooler is loud, I've installed the Morpheus II and what a difference!

My stock MSI Airboost was sooooo loud, like a plane taking off that I could hear even with headphones on. Hated it.

I've used installed the Morpheus II with 1 x 120mm bequiet! silent wings 3 and it's inaudible, barely runs past 1,400rpm at full load (72'c after 20minute stress test). Idles at 27'c.

This is overclocked too, just pushed everything a little harder to 1,660MHz (1055mV) core and 1,000MHz ram (1000mV).
