The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

I've a 1200w Superflower PSU.

I have the same. Good news: My AIO Vega cooler is shipping today/tomorrow (from Germany) so it looks like I will have an LC card soon but not the original one which is still pending stock.

Sunday/Monday for stress testing/error checking loops to make sure the card is stable before pulling the cooler off. :)

Which AIO did you go for?

I've been keeping an eye on the Alphacool Eiswolf but it's looking like the end of the month for that one. Thanks.

What is you're GPU activity showing as? Is it close to 100%? I imagine it should be given the grunt required to power that game. Also what FPS are you getting - you wouldn't have inadvertently limited the frames in the settings somehow?

Usage is at 100%, No frame limiting options are being used, Just odd that the GPU clock shoots down to 1100MHz.

Also Wolfenstein The New Order from 2014 runs like a dog with random CTD's, Put a 970 in and it runs smooth as butter with no crashes.

Yeah been there done that. Unfortunately that's an AMD/Bethedsa issue that never got fixed as both blamed each other. Locate the .exe file and run in compatibility mode (Win7/8) and you should be able to at least finish the game although you'll still get some CTD's but you'll be able to resume (in compatibility mode) from the same place. I'm up to about level 6 now and the game is interesting but is frame locked so doesn't really make use of my freesync monitor. Apparently the same issue happens with Old Blood but although I've got I've not played it yet. Good luck.

Playing a lot of Quake Champions on my Vega64 AIO.
I get in excess of 120fps on ultra without dips ....... but frankly that's crap because it stutters and slows down like **** especially when close to another player.
Wattman claims max temps of 60c, GPU @1694.
But what is very noticable is that the HBM speeds bouce a lot between 500Mhz and something higher.

Just for kicks I slapped my GTX770 2G card back in the same machine - much lower fps and much lower settings, but at least the FPS given matched the on screen enjoyment.

Any other Vega users getting bad stuttering but yet high FPS in this title?

Morning @AMDMatt. Since you're up, do you usually run the newest VBIOS for your cards? Like should we generally assume new is better? I'm pretty sure changelogs don't exist and Sapphire don't have a clue when asked.

I'm using the latest version, yes. You can try it here > https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/194844/194844

We write the bios, but there won't be much difference between the publicly available VBIOS.

I'm not aware of any publicly available changelogs, so can't comment on what is changed.

Thanks. I'll give it a go but before I do, am I right to think that since all these V64 LC cards (and AC) are reference designs then a Powercolor BIOS will be fine on a Sapphire card?

So I'm trying to challenge nvidias dominance in luxmark, but I see I will be failing in a minute. Funny thing is when I tried googling Vega 64 overclocking, resulted sites are posting 1700Mhz or 1716Mhz as overclocking achievement, while my sample runs happily at 1750Mhz@1100mV all day long, even folding. Is the a thread here with you guys overclocking successes and failures, or do I need to read the whole thread here?

Oh, before I forget:

P.S. you image attachment is broken in this forum :(

The stuttering in the game is not your hardware. It is the game and always sending debugging information across the servers. I get it as well. Some servers are better and worse than others.

The higher your fps the more stutters which affects your upload.
