The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Have you had any feedback from them about it? ie is it looking like a simple day-fix or am I best off breaking out the laptop to do the rest of Nessus ?
I don't know, debugging driver/game engines is far above my pay grade.

If you can use another system to get past that bit, the game should work fine thereafter.

The V64 is very tempting at that price. I have a 1070 and it's brilliant, just feel like a change.

Anyone use their Vega 64 with the Oculus Rift? How does it perform? What level of SS can you use in games?

If it's a little bit better than the 1070 at VR, I will switch and give Vega a go.

I'm using Vega64 with Oculus. Not experienced any issues. Games such as Robo Recall work flawlessly (currently using 1.2 pixel density).

Are there any apps you'd like me to try?

From memory it's a lot worse than a 1080, roughly between 20-50% worse :(

Yeah, I read that Article when it was released. But, there have been several driver releases since then and AMD usually bring good gains after a few driver revisions. So I was hoping that maybe things might have changed a little.

Babeltech's review of Project Cars 2 showed the Vega 64 comfortably beating the 1070.

With VR the biggest improvement is obviously supersampling, which requires a pretty massive increase in performance, so from a 1070 I think it's either a 1080ti or next gen that is needed.

How are Vega 64 owners finding the cards now? Been out of the loop since launch. The increases over the Fury look very impressive in some games like Dishonored 2.

Fury has served me surprisingly well at 1440p but an extra 57% FPS is seriously tempting.

Any general issues with the Vega 64 these days?

I am not switching just for VR :) I am just considering a change because I am interested in Vega and I currently have a Freesync monitor and a Ryzen CPU. Actually the reality is I am bored with the 1070 and feel like trying something new :)

My only concern is VR performance, If I get a performance increase if I switch to Vega, then I will very tempted to do it. If performance is going to be roughly the same or worse, then I won't bother and wait until next generation stuff appears.

do you mind me asking what you upgraded from?

Good to hear you are happy with the VR performance. I am using 1.3 pixel density on the 1070. Would you be able to try 1.5 in a few game san see what the performance is like?

I upgraded from CF 390s. I'll fire up Robo Recall at 1.5 and see how it fares...
