The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Yeah, about 2-3 times better than a 1070 on some of the best paying coins at the moment. The Vega 56 is identical performance to the 64 due to the fact that the memory is the same.

Edit to add: Even power usage isn't catastrophic as most will undervolt very well, especially for mining.

I am guessing Vega is good at mining? Cheapest 64 is £829 at OcUK.

Retarded pricing I agree though I admit, I wished I could make a fail of a GPU as AMD have.

I mean it's a crap GPU,Hot,late,,Power hungry ect compared to NV and cap it off the price is beyond daft. Yet they sell as well as get their biggest rival to integrate them within their CPU's !

Yes, I bet there's a few companies that would like to fail like this too I would think

There was a post by Gibbo saying that AIB's have pushed the price up massively. It has to be miners, I mean, surely gamers aren't paying £800+

Well it bloody better be at that! :D

Sometimes, I think it's just people automatically think AMD cards are better at mining!! :p

It might also be the case that with only a rumoured thousand chips each, the AIBs won't see any kind of real quantity sold, so they are upping their prices to compensate for lack of sales. That's only possible because people are still buying at ridiculous prices due to AMD's inability to meet demand.

When miners are buying directly from the AIB partners what can you do? Will see when the financial results come out if it benefitted AMD or not.

Just seen some of the prices second hand 64s are going for and the thought of selling mine and getting 1080Ti has crossed my mind.

Same here, I was hoping to wait out until the next round of Nvidia cards dropped but very little info at CES.

It's a good plan too, A 1080ti is superior in every way so it's only Freesync keeping the Vega an option.

At the moment my new PC build looks a bit odd, As you can see it's in a white Corsair Air240 m-atx case with the window pointing up so I now have red led fans at the front and the blue Vega Nitro+shroud lighting up the side, I prefer the case this way up as it has the added benefit of putting the motherboard flat so the heavy Vega Nitro+ card doesn't put any strain on the pcie slot eliminating droop (I can think of another area I could do with eliminating that problem but that's a topic for another day and maybe a Dr Phil episode ). Anyway, I contacted Sapphire asking when they are going to release the Trixx software with The Vega Nitro+ support as the current versions break the Vega Nitro's zero spin technology and I also want the RGB lighting support as I want to match up the case colours, I might eventually buy some RGB case fans as I can plug them in to the card itself for the RGB control, for now though I just want it to match with the red ones, I got my response which I thought I'd post here for any other Vega Nitro owners waiting for the same thing.

"Dear Customer :
Sorry about the inconvenience , we will go to release the new TriXX soon.
Thanks."

I'm glad they cleared that one up

WHAT!!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I've not been looking at prices for Vega or GPU's for a few weeks, cheapest V64 is now £829??? That's insane, feels very smug right now I picked my beast up for £459 :)

It's not too hard to see why they are so expensive. AIB's can't keep up with demand. Guy on reddit posted a picture of the 155 mining GPUs he bought and has another 600 on order!!

You got a good deal bud. A guy I worked with asked me to build his lad a PC and gave a budget of £1K and couldn't believe my eyes when looking at prices. I grabbed a Ryzen 1600 and a 1060 6GB but wanted an AMD GPU but prices are shocking!
