The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

I've been working on my settings over the weekend trying to get cooler & quieter 24/7 clocks, I was already happy with how the noise level had dropped from stock and now it's even better. You were right about the voltage, so far I've got it down to 1095 & 1125 on the core states so far, I'm going to see if I can get both under 1100 next without my real world in game clocks dropping below a 1600 mhz average.

Have you considered to buy an EK MLC, and a prefilled block?
I bought back in 2016 a Predator 360 and was the best investment made on my PC ever.

I have replaced three sockets, have fitted monoblocks also, and three graphic cards of which the last (nitro) with third party waterblock using the fittings from the gtx1080 prefilled waterblock.

It has all the benefits of custom water cooling but none of the hassles
Would be nice but not for £300.

A card that's only average of 20~30% faster and best case scenerio of 35% faster costing 88~90% higher in price?

Doesn't exactly scream value...
It's also a reference card with 1247mhz base 1546mhz boost so basically it will be running at about 1200-1400mhz at best out the box. Clearly a 2080 is faster, at that price I should hope so, but it's hardly fair to compare against an End of Life product. The Red Devil card is going to add like 10-15% on top of that.

What voltage and power limited settings are you on for this clock?

I been playing around with overclocking as well, and at the moment the highest overclock I seem to be able to keep it stable without black screen crash (only playing Monster Hunter World at the moment) is at 1704 core on 1175mv and power limited on +50%. Memory clock I left it at 1000MHz for now.

The overclocked Vega64 is definitely not enough for 4K for MHW max setting for 60fps, but it's doing surprising well for my 3200x1800 res on my 4K Samsung TV. I am managing get around 50fps+ with only the shadow details dropped to medium.

Here. That generates a 1704 clock constantly at 304W. It needs tweaking but I only have one full day per week at home at the moment, as I am living in Bristol during the week.
That is why I haven't posted any new settings since, because of no time. And the hours got the urge to do it is past midnight for a bit last Saturday. :D
But I am in the process of changing contracts, so I will be home every day with plenty of time on my hands. (I haven't watched TV since 2009).

You know you can buy only Radiator modules with the pump yes? And prefilled waterblock only for the GPU....
Or this B-grade one for £80

Just buy the pre-filled waterblock, since you have the reference card.

so is not £300 :)

and ocuk makes custom one here

@Gibbo

If someone wants the reference EK MLC vega waterblock, is there any way to buy from OCUK separate or with the bundle deal? Or only option is directly from EK?

Not worth the money at all. Would people be happy paying for a car which is double the price, but only has about 20% more performance? :/

I don't think my case has room for that tbh. I may consider it though if I sold my current Kraken 62 and could get my cpu and gpu cooled on this single unit but it may not be strong enough for that?

I use a single Predator 360 at 50% fan speed. It has ridiculous cooling power, to even manage a second Vega. Let alone a single one with a 8600K @ 5.1ghz.

And it has cooled a 6700K, 1800X, 4930K also. All overclocked and some of them reknown for running very hot. Right now I have it with monoblock, and the Z370I runs pretty hot trying to push the 8600K.

You can get the 240mm unit, or even the 120mm unit.
I saw that £80 MLC tonight and feeling tempted to grab it and put the Vega on it's own. Not that is needed, is ludicrous, but for the sake of it :P Is only a plug and play afterall.

Btw you are using the Kraken to cool the 1950X? If I remember correctly it doesn't cover the whole surface area yes?
(and yes that waterblock)

It wouldn't out of the box no but there is an adapter provided with the 1950x that does cover the whole thing. It's just not going to be as effective as if it was cooling an AM4 cpu, nonetheless its still one of the best out there for the TR4.

Anyone used a universal block for cooling the Red Devil?

I haven't used an universal block, but an early prototype of an Alphacool M02 block. Looks bad on the GPU plate (they had to mill out a corner of the GPU cooling plate to make it fit the card) but it cools fine plus you can't see it when it's mounted, and I got it at a reduced price. No idea when the official blocks are going to be available.

Hi guys, just looking for another opinion, I’m currently in talks with a seller on eBay for his used reference Vega64, he’s willing to do business at £350, his Vega64 has been used for mining for 4 months.
What do you guys think? Buy it?

I’m currently on a r9-290, i7 4770, in silverstone sugo micro itx SG11B with 625w thermaltake bronze (I think) PSU
