The Ryzen 5 3600 Discussion Thread

It seems to have revealed different 'Overclocking' options in BIOS from what I had previously.. and 'Game Boost' seems to have appeared too, although doesn't seem to help much :)

Sorry to jump in and ask a question that’s almost certainly been answered. Huge thread and I’m hoping to order sharpish for delivery tomorrow...

I have an x570 board and all but case and CPU.

I’ll almost exclusively be gaming (RTX2080) too.

Is there any real value in getting a 3700x, and is it still the case that the 3600x isn’t worth the £60 more than the 3600?

TLDR: will I still get the best out of a new gaming build using a 3600 with an RTX 2080, or shall I plump for the 3700x?

Agree with @RavenXXX2, save the additional and buy some.. RGB :)

Just a quick update. Thus far my all core Ryzen Master profiles are:

4200MHz @ 1.175v
4300MHz @ 1.225v
4400MHz @ 1.275v

Also testing out a profile where 3 cores are 4GHz and 3 cores at 4.5GHz at 1.275v :)

I keep tweaking the voltage until fully stable for my needs.

This must be an insanely good chip you have. I'm way over 1.3v to reach anywhere close to even 4.2Ghz on all core.

If I got the 3600 and paired it with a MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC, would I need to do a BIOS update or anything prior?

On a website it is saying this for some reason:

"Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions"

I use this combination and a BIOS update was indeed needed. Very simple to to however on the mobo.
