**The Secret World**

Still terrible... I don't like item trading like that... keep it on a friendly level & it leads to great team play. Turn it in to an auction house and it turns in to chasing the most gold/points/etc :(

They already have an in-game real money store but it's just for vanity items.

Regarding the Trade-post - I haven't played any MMO that hasn't had one in one form or another. And whilst it has been a breath of fresh air not having one we always knew there was going to be one.

I'm pleased they're adding it because it's hell trying to buy things in the chat channels with the constant cabal recruitment and LRG spam going on.

I've finally managed to free up Friday right upto 8pm for using my 24hour login Crinkle sent me woohoo! I'm mega excited and will buy the game immediately to carry on playing should it turn out to be my 'thing'

From what my guild are telling me TSW is a silent MMO but it is very very enjoyable. Is it me or games that are not overhyped can tend to be a secret hit (no pun intended).

Anyway I know some folks in my guild are doing some live streaming and if I had the money i'd pick it up!

this is the first game when i am in no rush to get to the "magical endgame" everyone harks on about.

Completely agree with this. With no level attached to character, just going round enjoying the story.

I absolutely love the complexity of the skill wheel and the potential synergies. Spent an hour last night just planning out my blade centric build which could do the following (sorry can't remember names of skills and at work):-

Each Hit -> Inflicts enemies + increases penetrate rating
Each Penetrate -> Weakens enemies + increases damage, penetrate, hit & crit rating!

It must be daunting for relative newcomers, especially considering the potential difference of good/bad build is quite significant.

One thing that does seem off is the rating buffs from passives do not scale with level. 150 pen/hit/crit rating at end game may not be a great deal, but having these buff earlyish on was amazing.

I duel wield though in order to build up resources much faster (2 per swipe) so that i can get a big hit in every 4 combos. If I go fists/chaos although I get 2 resources per hit, one goes for each weapon, rather than 2 in fist resources. I realise that in the end it all adds up to the same resources, its just that since I get 2 per hit in fists, I can get a big hit in much earlier.
I use a passive elite skill from the Chaos tree (or wheel, whatever).

I would prefer using 2 different weapons for a bit of variety, but the dps just isn't anywhere near what I get duel wielding fist weapons.

I like the idea of a single weapon quick combo builder, but negative I can think about is it means using 3 builders followed by one consumer whereas the standard two weapon approach would be 5 builders followed by 2 consumers (which is very slightly more big hits per total hits... 2 in 7 compared to 1 in 4)

The passive you mentioned I believe builds 2 resources on primary and 1 on secondary weapon. To save wasting the secondary weapon resources have you thought about maybe using elemental / blood as second weapon. They have 3 point finishers I believe, so could then do 3 fist builders, 5-point fist finisher, 3-point elemental finisher as an example?

I think dual-wielding the same weapon bears investigation all the same. Might be very useful in some healing builds where the heals kick off a full resource bar.

Turns out I was right and wrong. I got the tradepost info from the test server patch notes. The live server patch notes, however, didn't include anything about the tradepost.

I contacted a GM in game and asked about it. He told me that the tradepost is indeed TSW's version of an Auction House, and is scheduled for release with patch 1.1.

@dmcg: If I had to hazard a guess without looking into it - CJS Keys

Good point: i might look into elementalism. I know my method is slightly inefficient, but I'm soloing at the moment, and I find the burst damage of builder > builder > builder > consumer just finishes off the first mob much more quickly than the 2 weapon approach. This then obviously lowers damage received a bit quicker too.
If fighting a boss, I will often put a 1-point builder HOT as my 3rd combo.
(eg.- Bear Knuckes (builder), BK, Cauterise (HOT), Tear 'em Up (consumer).

Anyone know if the fmvs from trailers etc are actually in the game? Such as the girl drinking a milkshake in her flat, that's then attacked my a demon.

Dropping by to keep this thread on the first page & say I'm still absolutely loving this. So much so that I finally got round to doing some much needed maintenance on my pc hehe.

The AP & SP acquisition for weapons & the skill wheel is fantastic. At a fixed 40k xp for an AP & 120k xp for a SP, with quests gradually returning more xp, and skills gradually costing more - it's perfectly tuned for that "Oh, I fancy trying healing" moment I had last night. A couple of hours play on rerunning quests, and a bit of pvp and I've just about got a decent basic heal set to merge with one of my other levelled weapons.

That's now 4 weapons filled on the inner ring, with a select few skills selected from the outer ring for each. The variety is incredible, and absolutely feeds my 'need to be different from the mainstream, yet also be awesome' gene.

TLDR: Loving it. It's an interesting, non grindy, non lowest-common-denominator mmorpg, and it's fun.

I'm only now realising you get clothing for completing the base layers of the wheel for each weapon. I'd been wondering where all the jackets were coming from :D

Is there any way I can try this game without subbing as I keep hearing so many good things about it.

Are there any buddy keys etc?
