**The Secret World**

Combat only gets interesting when you have a few outer-wheel abilities unlocked and some synergies going. Eg. all my DPS abilities are inner-wheel and are a bit basic, but my heals are a mixture of inner- and outer-wheel abilities and those are excellent.

This chronicle thing is pretty cool. http://chronicle.thesecretworld.com/character/rigsta (that offhand weapon is a shotgun btw.)

Anyone else getting frequent crashes in this? I love the game, I really do and haven't enjoyed an MMO this much since pre CU SWG, but since I put it on this afternoon at about 4, I had four crashes (two of which were hard crashes and froze my system requiring a reboot) in the space of two and a half hours. I've since put the game back on at 8:30 and have had another three (one requiring a reboot).

Latest drivers, no conflicts, DX9 mode (crashes in DX11 too) and I've tried repairing the game too, and it still keeps doing it. Really getting on my nerves now.

Only had one crash since release mate. You checked the official forums? Also on a side note does the savage coast freak anyone out? The atmosphere is totally epic.

Well I decided to take the plunge and bought the game in the end. I am glad I did as it very different to other mmo's I have played and I can see me getting quite into it.

I am still learning the ropes and not sure exactly what I am doing with the Ability wheel just yet but I think thats only because I am not sure what role in the game I want to take.

Are there any OcUK guilds? (are they even called guilds in this game) ;)

I had a couple of AoC style memory leak freeze/crashes after the big patch, but the small fixes they did after that seems to have cured it. So no, suprisingly few crashes.

I was playing at 1920 x 1200 res and crashing regularly with an older system that has no problems running TOR, D3 etc. Running at that res it was causing my pc to overheat, no amount of dropping graphics settings made any difference, so eventually I changed the res as a test. Dropped it to 1680 x 1050 (I think) which is the same ratio of 1.6. I haven't crashed since and can pump the graphics up way higher.

This may not help you but it's made my game a lot more enjoyable :)

Well atm the servers are freaking out for me - literally rubberbanding hundreds of metres, messed up ultra-laggy combat (where I just stop fighting - the mobs don't lag though (great)), and lots of dc's.

Might try again in a few hours.

There are a couple of OcUK guilds although in game they are called Cabals, links / contacts are a couple of pages earlier in this thread.

Currently there are problems with the ingame chat system that affects cabal chat and you can only join a cabal that is the same faction as you are, but you can group with anyone regardless of faction.

There is a thread on the offical forums where you can post to say you are seeking a cabal, and quite a few are recruiting atm.

Some of the more well known ones are:

Illumanati - Blacklisted
Templar - Seventh legion, 9 swords
Dragon - Ouberous, The hydra initiative.

I'm only running at 1680x1050 anyway, and with a [email protected], 8gb ram, Z77XUD5H and a 470, that should be plenty enough to run the game.

I'm going to try a reinstall and hope that fixes the problems.

Thanks for the trial garsands, I'm really glad I got to play it first instead of buying as I don't really like it.

Anyone know if there's anywhere I can find approximate server stats for factions?

The reason I ask is for PVP, I like my dragon. I like the way we're always outnumbered in the FFA, and how games pop quickly for the mini pvp's. However I absolutely hate the DPS outfit dragons get, and yes, this is enough for me to switch to a templar/Illuminati should there be a server where one of these is also in the minority.

I want to be an underdog regardless, but without any real idea of what the server stats are I'm kinda stuck. Is anyone's server always dominated by one faction in pvp? Tell me, and I'll go to the other side ;)

Thanks if anyone can help!

I've played my 24 hour trial and I had a lot of system problems and crashes as well as decreasing performance over time. What I'm going to do is wait at least 6 months and then buy it because I quite enjoyed some of the quests but got a bit bored of the gloomy setting after a while and wanted some sega blue skies :)
