**The Secret World**

You don't need origin, the secret world account is separate so you just..

Make an account for secret world via the funcom website > put the cd key on the account page > download game client from funcom website :D
 
Tempted to get this, was in the beta mostly enjoyed it - minus the obvious bugs. For some reason I never got it at retail, possibly because of GW2.

Any suggestions for guilds?
 
Have to say, I'm loving this so far - although I had played some of it in the beta, I'd largely forgotten it tbh. I just need to work out what the hell I'm doing with stats etc, so far I'm just using shotgun and have just been distributing points between power and (whatever the other one is).

The atmosphere in the game is great and I actually find myself being drawn into it, unlike most MMO's I play these days. Long may it continue.
 
With allocating skillpoints - initially at least, stick with one skill for each weapon type, ie. don't split between damage and survivability. Your skill level needs to match the QL level of a weapon to be able to use it, but it just checks against which ever skill is higher, it doesn't add them up from both lines.
 
When I started playing I just looked on the TSW official forums, plenty of guides on there.

Using one atm with fist / blade and can solo anything so far
 
Played it a bit, the whole attack system is annoying but obviously an MMO staple and is making me dig out my razer again. Was kind of hoping for more free style targetting which i thought id read about a while ago but going to give it a couple of hours tonight. Not reading any guides or anything to get the full experience and ill reroll later on.

Thanks. Just had a proper look at my character - I've gone all damage on the shotgun so far (no support), so that seems okay. On the ability wheel I've got a mix between Enforce and Control. Does it not matter so much for the ability wheel?

Nope, on the ability wheel you could almost max out all the inner circle abilities, just to see which you like. It's once you start investing in the outer abilities that you have to have an idea where you want to specialise, as they become a lot more costly.

Is there an OcUK Cabal active for this game? Looking to group up with some people to do Polaris.

I've managed to clear the majority of Kingsmouth and Savage Coast. Wandered into Blue Mountain and finding that a little tough so not sure what to do now beyond Polaris.
