Nah mate, I got a few friends who've had work done on them, all say that Xam is the best, he's in massive demand and that's why a booking takes forever with him.

im gonna get some tattoos this week perhaps 2 massive w's on ma bumcheeks need too see how much that will cost first though just too make the girls go wow and an ak47 assault rifle on my arm a cross on my chest that looks like a jesus cross but more like a x and then a tick for no and yes .... kinda long term health plan for stopping smnoking lol


will report back next week my tatooist is free monday night :)

I'm considering getting a tattoo and would like to know what people think of my design and give me some advice. Obviously you may or may not like my design but wanted to know where abouts on my body you think this would look OK, what size I should get, how much it will cost, how long it will take, how accurate can a tattoo artist be i.e. in terms of straight lines.

Anyone know of any good places in the South West/Gloucestershire area?

I was thinking of getting quite a small version on this on the underside of my wrist.

(background colour is an attempted skin tone :))

Saw the tattoo somewhere else and altered a few little bits enough to make it unique, like the writing (Was going for Romanes Eunt Domus :) )

The tattoo should be made a decent size. The icons on the top right side of the image need to be big enough so in a few years they dont merge into a mess. You wanna keep all the line work neat so it will look better in the future. It's a good design but you might wanna talk to your artist to see what he thinks needs fixing to make sure it will make a good tattoo. Will look fine to me with some fixing but i am not a tattoo artist lol
 
Spitzoid, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lee and Mike at Inksin in Yate, they are the guys who are doing my sleeve (pics on page one of this thread).

As for the design, I can just echo what Sash said, the small linework on the symbols will tend to blur and merge over time so you need to keep them fairly large.

I've really been thinking for about 2 years to get this tattoo, not sure whats really holding me back.

Do tattoos stop you getting jobs etc? like the one i want to get its on the inside of my arm (see picture), so you cant really see it if the arms facing inwards which it will do most of the time.

Also, do the colours go away over a period of time? how long would that be?

Big question!

The place on my arm where i would get it(Picture) would it be effected a lot by how much muscle i have there at the moment, im planning on getting more muscle on my arms and if i got it before would the tattoo stretch after i have gained muscle in my arms?

Tattoos may stop you getting jobs, cover them up at interviews.

Good tattoo artists use high quality ink, these do not fade much over time. Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight when it is healing, do not pick the scab, pat to dry dont rub. Use bepanthen for a couple of weeks after you get the tattoo and generally take care of it :) This will ensure the colour and style of the tattoo stays preserved.

If you gain muscles after you get the tattoo this will distort the tattoo. Get the muscle then the tattoo.
 
Finally booked my tattoo with DrewXIII of Painted Lady, he's doing some guest spots in Cardiff which makes it more convenient than going up to Birmingham!
Love his style, just a little bit dark but hopefully he won't mind brightening mine up a bit ;)
