The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

A good tattooist doesnt want to waste his time having to recolour a tattoo that has been done. So he does it right first time. If they have to recolour cos they screwed up it means they have to spend time doing your tattoo again for free instead of spending time on a paying customer, plus no tattooist wants a bad rep for shoddy work.

But eventually all tattoos, no matter how well done, will begin to fade. Is that right?

My tattoo artist showed me a tattoo he got done 30 years ago and it was still very black. They fade slightly but you are looking at 10s of years. Good quality ink takes years to fade.

Ink needs to be redone every 6-8 years to maintain colour, they will still be vibrant but will lose detail over time.

Just started my Americana Sleeve. Just gonna layer it, piece by piece.

It depends how well you look after it, the tatooist who did my binary has a tattoo head to heel on her back done by her husband, whose studio it is, and very few people have ever seen it because she keeps it covered permanently to preserve it, I don't think it's ever seen sunlight

My first post on here thats for sure, I'm playing with the idea of the attached tattoo, just wanted some personal opions from you guys which I'm sure I wont get any problems getting (sorry for the poor photoshop effort).
Also do any of you guys and girls know what the symbol stands for?

I know a lot of people will say its bad because it is a tribal design. I think it will look decent but it depends on the tattoo artist doing it. I wouldnt get something like that myself but if you want to get it and don't mind seeing the look of it after a few weeks of seeing the picture you should get it.

No idea what it means though which is one of the reasons I wouldnt get it.

Quick question, if you get a zit on your tattoo, once the zit has been dealt with does the skin heal back the original colour? or will it heal back as it was when the tattoo was done?

Thanks :)

I had a spot on my tattoo and it stayed black.

That fairy tattoo is appalling!
