The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

My first sitting yesterday, just over 2 hours. Back in two weeks.

A7X are pretty cool, and I esp like the detail on the rose, always wondered how the artist gets the smokey/faded/shading effect on tattoos

Cheers man :) getting more shading around the sides and text next time, then the purple through the lot of it the following visit. :D

yea, some subtle purple to darken larger areas would look good, obviously if you just plaster it in purple it'll be too dark and hard to see, but well placed shadows and highlights would add to it :)

Yup :p

Just the 2 week wait for that to heal, then another 2 weeks for the purple, gonna kill me :D

Cant wait for it to be finished

Just looking at getting that as a full sleeve - What do you guys think? And yeah, I'm aware that I don't have it yet.

And no it doesn't have meaning, I just really like the design..

Good man.

I think it might be a bit sparse if you continued the same pattern as a full sleeve. A bit repetetive, kinda. Implement it into something else on the lower arm, in my opinion.

Has anyone got photos of tattoo'ed equations etc.

I mean proper ones not e=mc^2 business

cheers

I have been to see the tattooist, and he is going to draw it up full, and then draw a few things up to go over it on the bottom of the arm. Just going through ideas at the moment. But it's looking like it will be used as a background.

@Neoni: Can you not say why you think it's dull and boring?

too generic, you need to give it something that will make it stand out from the crowd.

I've never seen the lightly done vines between and around the tribal design. i think it's nice, subtle touch that takes what is, admittedly, a run of the mill tattoo and makes it into some different and, dare i say it... slightly less RAR MACHO VIRILITY than a lot of tattoos of that nature.

Yeah, that's the standard design; But the tattooist is going to draw something up, I think he's just going from the theme of my other tattoo's (Animal/Slightly tribal*).

Hes just going to draw some rough sketches up, and see what I feel about them.

*I started with the tribally stuff before I knew it was "Common/chavvy" as I like the style...

Its annoying how the scum can turn a good set of tattoos into something that is overdone.

Keep us updated. :)
